Re: K N Filter Horse power increase

the k&n things been done a few times before on here, put less restriction on the intake and let it breath easier and you'll get a few extra hp out of it probably enough to just notice the difference but letting air in easier with less restriction means less filtration and more shit getting into ...

x2 on the OME stuff but you'll probably find thats about a grands worth of shocks to shell out for, good bang for your buck if your planning on keeping the truck for a long time coz they last forever long after you've been through a few sets of cheapies, I brought a couple of sets of secondhand ones...

as above mate you only need to allow a day to do an engine swap so long as there arent any unexpected suprises thrown in that you havent allowed for such as replacing rooted clutch etc

all that tyre shit is rule of thumb, yep you want non agressive tyres or they'll be digging you down instead of pushing you forward, yep you want them aired down so theres a better footprint sitting on top of the sand instead of slicing down into it, yep a wider tyre helps put a bigger foot print on...

So.. How did those steering stops get out that far? I guess that is why it "handled like it was on rails" huh? there was a reason for it, before I brought it there was a saginaw steering box on it and heath had an opps clipping a log and the wheels flicked around full lock and smashed the...

15th - 17th March 2013

Spent about a thousand hours freeing up dozens of idler adjusters and getting the maze of belts off to swap out the dying/dead power steer pump, when I threw all the belts off the other weekend it didnt make any difference to the steering when the belts were gone :x :? stuck it all back togeth...

you'll be sweet front mounting it then if you can juggle it in there with the radiator without compromising radiator size and cooling, a small bit back and a small bit higher can make a big difference to approach angle, chop the piece of shaft your shortening in the middle and sleeve it with some tu...

Re: PTO Winch on 78 Prado.

Any ideas or thoughts welcome. Cheers, Micah. you want to have a look at kbushnz's thread he did a nice job of rear mounting a pto on his 78 series prado, its all well documented. If your looking at shortening things up and lifting things at the front you want the pto shaft squared up as best as po...

Who can I get to do it for me ? Have spoken to 2 different Diff shops, and both made it sound too hard basket / not keen to do it incase it warps. to manage the warpage you make up a jig out of some old scrap to support everything and tack the housing and swivel balls to it before you start welding...

The tyres are BF Goodrich 33 X 12.5 X 15. The real issue here appears to be BF Goodriches Rim size recomendations. the NZ site is down but the Australian site recommends a 10 inch rim with a minimum of 8.5 and max of 11..... And as every one know who has bought steel rims - 8 1/2 inch rims don't ex...
