Re: who runs a sr20 and fwd gearbox? or knows how od works

This is nearly related. I to have the SR20de fwd with cable kick down. Just wondering what you used for the out put of the fwd diff. Its pretty tight in there for uni joints, its really the front one that runs past the engine crank case,or can we use the original CV? I'm running Hilux drive shafts a...

Re: Hydraulic steering help / advice

Im no expert, but in general terms an automotive power steering pump and like a Toyota Camry power rack can be used in conjunction with a orbital steering control valve from a fork lift, tractor or boat as long as the orbital unit has a thinner spacer in the body. Rather than a thicker spacer as thi...

I'm looking at building a front axle for a Pajero based off road club truck. If I use a Safari diff as like this http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/nissan/diffs-axles/auction-913370037.htm could I use a Nissan H233B Diff head or even the gear set. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/L...

Re: 2.0l 4cyl

There is a cross over model, which has the J20 motor but still has the suspension of the original Vitara/Escudo. I think it is about 1995. Look for the 2L on the back door and as long as it is not a Grand Vitara you may be close. Hopefully all the tried and true Vitara suspension mods may still work...

Challenger mud tires?

Hi all. I have a mate who has just brought a 1996 Mitsubishi challenger. He’s not looking to do much with it just recovery hooks and an extra set of wheels suitable for mud. Tires at the moment are 265/70/15. What is the biggest mud tire he can fit? 31x10.5x15?

Re: map sensor manifold fitting

Hay hers a thought. Could you take a picture of the bracket that holds up the right side of the air inlet pipe that’s across the top of the motor. I haven’t got one. Might make it a bit easier to fab one up or get the correct unit as I have been sent the wrong bracket.

Cheers MIKE.

I too had the same sender broken doing my motor conversion. Mud Bits sent 2 as there seems to be different hose sizes, the one I need has a 4mm pipe and the one I wont be using has a 6mm pipe, which you are welcome to have. It’s a Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor so sates the Haynes Manual. L...

Re: G13a block with G16a head.

OK. Spent some time trying to use the original Escudo fuel pump in a 10-liter tank but found the steel pressure tube had a split in it. All above-mentioned parts rubbish in favor of a VL commodore fuel pump. Had conflicting reports about needing a low pressure lift pump to supply the high-pressure V...

Re: G13a block with G16a head.

Yeah but on a budget. Trying to use what I got to get me going. Have done more research and comp ratio should be the same. Will get bigger valves with the 1600 head, slightly more torque, and rid of the dodgy carburetor. May need to swap over top cam sprocket. Still need to know what head gasket to ...

So I got a SJ413 (off road only) with the usual carburetor and poor ignition problems. Iv removed the head together with TBI from my old blown G16a (chucked a leg out of bed). Once you are happy with the amount of camber, these washers can be welded on. Use heavy washers. Make it look nice and paint. ...
