Re: 1KZ torque Lock up Wiring.
Well I thought it was time for a update. I have fitted the Torque Lock up. it works as advertised. I use it when the Torque Converter will not stay locked up. this may take 30 mins to 2 hours to show up. I had show weekend away in and around Omarama and St Bathans with the 4x4 club . I did 800 km ...

Re: 98 Grand vitara v6
HI I have Vitara v6. Yes they like petrol. The figures out on the Internet are about right. Nice to drive. Check that you can't hear the cam chains. That will cost $2500 from the dealer. I did it myself for $1000 of parts.

Re: 1KZ torque Lock up Wiring.
I do understand what you are saying. I had the ECU at Anything about 4 years ago for cap replacemet etc. The problem is the fault is very intermittent. It may also be as designed. Meaning it maybe turned off for anyone of the 5 or 6 things that turn it off. I have also got the lock up so will ...

1KZ torque Lock up Wiring.
So my Lockup does not always stay locked up at 100 km on the open road. I have purchased a Torque Converter lockup kit from Wholesale Auto in Australia. I have a wiring diagram but the detail is in Japanese...... I need to find the Torque Converter Clutch lockup signal as it comes out of the ECU. I ...

Re: Auto trans oil temp
HI Towing with that transmission requires you to use it as a manual or it will overheat. The torque converter will not stay locked up and that is where the issue is. I have a temp Guage fitted to mine and tow a caravan over the Arthurs pass with no issues. I do control which gear it is in and will ...

Hi Gardengnome
In your case the High Engine Temp will have caused the ECU to not lock the torque Converter.
I am still chasing my issue....

Hi My Auto will occasionally not stay locked up in 4th. It happens on the open road and if I turn the o/Drive off/on a couple of Times it will lock up again. The Auto is warm but not over hot. It was rebuilt 2 years ago after water was in it. The fluid level is good and not burnt or dirty... I had ...

Hi Had a Landcruiser BJ73 with a 3B engine. It dumps the crankcase with a breather at the bottom of the engine via a steel tube. I am in Canterbury in a 4X4 club and occasionally do some big braided rivers with water over the bonnet. It never bothered the 3B. Did worry you at times with the fumes at ...

Hi I thought I would update on what I have done. I have connected the 4 breathers from the diffs, transfer and Auto Gearbox up to a small manifold. Hi
I also had my cert fail on this.
In my case the tyre Manufacturer said 8 1/2 to 12 inch rims....
The certifier is just sticking to the manufacturer requirements

Went to Toyota this morning and got a new cam belt, tensioner and pulley. Got a new seal as well. that bottom cam belt pulley comes off with just the 4 10mm bolts.
Then a trip back to toyota to get the right seal. All fixed after 3 hours or so.
