Re: 93 Escudo auto no spark
My guess was an issue powering the coil while cranking but I did not think they had ballast resistors still . Alas you say you swapped it out . I would say put a light or multimeter on the positive on the coil and see if you have light/voltage with ign on and then with starter cranking . If it drops...

Re: Converting a Disco 2 from 5-speed to Auto
The td5 is no power house but I was happy with the chipped td5 power , mind you I was not trying to make it make power below 2000rpm . Not saying it did not have any but it just seemed happy in the 2 to 3g range . To be fair my old torque converter was a bit sad so no direct comparison to a good fac...

Re: Converting a Disco 2 from 5-speed to Auto
I miss my old d2 ..... Anyway , I am a short ass and the best thing I did was space the gas pedal off the floor an extra inch . Mine was auto thou , but I found the gas pedalwas too low compared to the brake pedal . Oh and if you are going to chuck an auto in it go with the 4.6 torque converter . I ...

Re: Wanted -- Garrett Turbo or Hitachi replacement
Crash are you sure these turbo's are ball bearing turbo's ? Do not anything about them but they look like a plain bearing type of turbo to me . It would be the turbo of choice for a project I have but looking for a ball bearing turbo , I came across these a while back but dismissed them at the time ...

Try again . I am after a vitara rear diff head and housing in a 5.12 ratio . Dont need axles and brakes etc . The closer to bombay the better .

Do you think the extra 100mm in the rod end adapter put more leverage on the threaded end on the arm , thus not helping the cause ? Clint has not had an issue from his reports , still no point in doing something that is not ip to the job .

Re: g16 16v loom questions
Take a pic of the top of the engine so I can see if its an a or b . Look at the block and see if it is a g16a or g16b . G16a can be 8v carbed , tbi or multi point injection . Another way to tell is b has a sensor down on the front pulley for timing I believe , never rewired a b so not striped one fi...

Re: g16 16v loom questions
So I got off my ass and looked , the two wires to the injector you talk about are not on the g16a loom , g16a batch fires the injectors in pairs , g16b has 4 injector feed wires . Did not bother looking up the TBI wire you are talking about . Google yourself a g16a Manual and you should be right . I...

Re: g16 16v loom questions
You could have a g16a loom and ecu . There are differences between g16a and g16b , without digging out the diagrams thou I cant be sure .
If I get enthusiastic I will turn on the laptop and see if I can match the wires you talk about .
Cheers

No expert on the gv's but this is my opinion . The model you have did have the renault 1.9 diesel but only in a manual . From all accounts it was not the best engine they had and not very powerful . I have been unable to find an automatic box that would bolt up to it , I want a diesel auto . So look...

I have used a two tin paint from ressene (forget what it was now) for two floors I have done . Re: Auto locker for a samuari opinions
I disagree a little with zukimister on the front locker , having a front locker will not break cv's and axles . They way you drive it will break axles and generally having a front locker means you can take things a lot easier than without it . What you will notice is cornering will be affected by th...

That's a pretty good deal. the V8 was very different to drive, I got the center muffler replaced for a free flow one half the size so it sounded proper! All the power and torque is just off idle so you didn't need revs or much throttle. Totally different to the td5. Your right, they are sure not fa...
