very nice truck you have done a real nice job. i am moving back to the home of land rover and will be going back to defenders, more than likely a 90 defender as it wont be a tourer.

those clutch alignment tools available on trade me for $10 bucks. i have just packed up my whole house ready to move overseas so i have no idea where mine is otherwise i would have given you it as i will never use it again.... they are plastic but work well. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts...

GQ Front calipers rebuilt (new seal kits) with new pads

standard single pot ones with very good rotors, $80 for the complete set, you will have to collect from Hamilton though. i rebuilt them put them on the truck then replaced with twin pot calipers and discs.

i would be checking rear caliper for a seal leak personally as a priority (will usually leak directly onto tyre when parked on the flat), then look for ''other issues'' get the oil that has leaked on you finger and smell it, there is a clear difference between diff oil and brake fluid. caliper seal ...

i have owned around 12 safaris/patrols, and driven a few others.. some felt tight and drove really well with good pulling power others felt like slugs, in fact i am going to say i have never driven two the same, they all vary and you cant always guarentee the kms so engine may be more tired than ini...

ive had efs, raw, and tough dog, didnt rate the raw ones but efs and raw are both very similar, i prefer efs and have them in both my trucks.

just strip the thing down and rebuild it, its probably due for a rebuild, easy and basic. new seals are off the shelf, use the correct oil, its like treacle, i have some. where are you? you can down load a pic off the net to rebuild or take pics as you strip.

i have a set of the pipework thats needed for a manual conversion, goes across the firewall with the clutch bleed block all the way to the slave cyl etc if anyone needs it, has the black plastic vacuum chamber also.. $20 cant post it so collect in hamilton.

been building a winch bar on the project safari so i can get to a warrent stage, then both the patrol and saf will be up for sale, then once the house is sold its moving back to the uk for us, after 8 years in nz and nissans it will be difficult going back to defenders, although i do look forward to...

very odd how all swb are different, friday i replaced both rear uj's on my bush truck for $112 but there was nothing wrong with them, i still have a vibe even with 10mm g/box spacers at around 90kms from the rear, i cant think of anything else so it must be tyres..... coxsy i am glad you asked this ...

i think this is a glow plug timer/relay issue can anyone confirm please, gq y60 td42, sometimes when i turn the key the glow plug light comes on for just a second or so even first thing in the morning and takes a bit of winding over to start, other times its the normal 3 or so seconds and starts nor...

rebuilt radiator support cross member, fitted new brake pads all round and water pump on my rough safari, kind of now wish i had bought new hoses as i think they are origional, so i will do it next weekend, also found out why it lost water and the carpets always wet, a fractured pipe on the rear hea...

you might struggle with standard height stuff, could always put in a 2'' lift, you can run your standard shocks with 2'' (if not going offroad)....i doesnt hardly make any difference if your towing if thats your concern. there are heaps of places that do springs surely someone will do std in nz?? au...

Where on earth do I find (NZ not AU via TradeMe) new suspension for my GQ that restores the standard height? The only one I can find is on Trade me which will ping me around 200 bucks for GST etc. so you want new standard springs?? is this what your saying?? if you can get new std springs for 200 b...
