pull

Thanks. Keeping an eye our for possible push fans. Not enough space between engine & radiator for a pull fan.

Re: Working bee: How to fix rust and what to paint over it ?

Thanks for tips. I know sandblasting is the best way forward but for paddock repairs this isn't an option.

Surface rust can be dealt to with a metal wire brush/wheel and the slightly heavier with an angle grinder.

Does anybody know how I can stop rust which is heavily bubbled?

Working bee: How to fix rust and what to paint over it ?

Going to be helping put some rust at bay on a Land Rover chassis & firewall. Rust varies from surface to bubbles to holes. Being parked outside in the bush, the aim is to stop the majority of the rust before the vehicle gets restored - not sure how many years it'll have to wait since it's #2 in ...

Re: Best Practice for electirical wiring ??

As you can image for any 40 plus vehicle, the wiring spans multiple decades. Has an alternator so no lucus regulator. Trailer wiring is a brilliant idea. Don't know if their amps rating is sufficient for the wiring I'm replacing - 15-25amp. But the idea of trailer wiring is a good one and if their a...

The Govt obviously hasn't thought about the impact of this on our carbon emissions and the impact it'll have on the average age of the road fleet.

Many bikers I've spoken too will replace their as-new bikes with vintage cages. Car pooling and buses were ruled out.

Had a peak under two other Land Rovers on Saturday and they too don't have a fuel return pipe ... hence why I couldn't find one on mine. Haynes manual hinted there was one. My Land Rover Series 2a is fitted with a petrol Holden 186. Thanks a lot.

Shall wire one relay for each feed out and see how it goes. Must also double check how the existing electric fan is wired in ... that's 15amp which could be leaching off the wrong circuit. Doubt there's a pre-engage starter motor on the Holden 186 engine.

Re: Oil that looks like black treacle

I let the engine idle with diesel in to clean out old oil. Diesel has some lubricating properties so its not too bad for em. Don't use anything like petrol for it. Ive been doing the same for the last few years with either kero or diesel. I idle 500ml-1L through for 20-30mins. Works a treat. Thins ...
