Have you tried bypassing the key barrel ?
Key start signal to the ECU might be intermittent .
I would also be checking he engine wiring harness for shorts to ground .

Wanted Landrover 200/300tdi injector pump

So the day I’m supposed to be going on holiday my diesel specialist has just informed me that at some point my injector pump has had a lung full of water resulting in the need for a very expensive full rebuild . So I’m looking for a non ecu , ideally non egr manual injector pump for a Landrover 2.25...

Re: Oil catch can question

The factory oil seperator cyclone system on the landrover 2.25 turbo diesel Drians back to the sump without the use of a one way valve .

But is plumbed in below the oil line in the sump to prevent sump pressurisation or oil blow back up the drain line . Seeems to work ok .

I fully endorse LR spares as well . Awesome service and Rex always goes out of his way to make sure the part you are after is right . Lots of options on what quality of parts you are after ie aftermarket , OEM or Landrover Genuine . Personally I won’t bolt anything britpart mechanical to my buss and...

Hasn't Muddyplumber's 3 door disco got the yellow Camel trophy paint underneath the green? Yep, that's right. Engine bay and any hard to reach places are still Sandglow paint... was obviously a very nice truck once upon a time. A shame to see how rough it's become and underneath the yellow it was o...

So if your rope normally gets bunched up are you not concerned with the minimal clearance between the winch and the fan?

Nice fab work , but the winch / fan clearance is a red flag for me as with even a slight even rap of the rope it's going to hit / break the plastic fan

Re: SJ413 diff swap to Vitara

The G16 vitara front diff will fit into the sj413 & samurai housing . From memeroy they are 22spline , so to fit to the rear of a SJ you need to change the side gears to 26spline . Also the vitara Carrier is alloy and a lot weaker than the SJ steel carrier . The best option is to use the vitara ...

One is the temp sender the other should be a temp switch for the AC fan One should short to ground at a certain temp the other should change impedance ( decrease ohms ) as the temperature rises. From memory the vitae's uses a different impedance range to the SJ and most use the SJ sender to get full...

put in in a sealed electrical box , IP66 rated , cable gland for the wiring then vent the box to vacuum , ie manifold or snorkel to pull any moisture out of it , if you don't vent it the trapped air will condensate inside the sealed box . I wouldn't coat the ECU in anything as the capacitors , resis...

Re: Transfer case gears

It's not the welding that's expensive , it's the machining of the hardened gears , they normally go through at least 3 cutting heads in the process which brings the cost up a lot . For a shop to do it for you at least $300 . I found the 4.16 gears were still I bit high for my liking and that I wante...

With the AU Fans you can wire them up with 3 relays so that they operate in the factory dual speed configuration. Run in series to go half speed and then switch to parallel for full speed . You then use a dual switch thermo switch like the Tridant TFS214. I run mine with a 3 way switch as well that ...
