WTB GQ front bumper Palmerston North area

Want to take off my defunct winch cradle front bumper and replace with a standard one. Planning to paint with bed liner to see how it looks.

Palmy 4wd garages

I could use a recomendation for a good Palmerston North 4wd garage to get some work done on my Safari. I'm in Dannevirke but figure I'll have to go Palmy for a specalist. I've got a 91 LWB and have decided to upgrade it rather than update it with a newer one. Hopefully ending up with a truck with at...

I thought I'd sell if off on trademe if it's worth anything. Apperantly it goes well. The owner is spending the winter in Southern France or somewhere. But I will hopefully T things up with him when he gets back in a month or so.

Swapping a TB42 for a TD42

Im looking at putting my TD42 into a truck with a TB42. The petrol truck is a manual and the diesel a auto. So I want to end up with a diesel manual. Will this bolt straight in? Are the bell housings different for the different boxes? Would it be easier to swap the manual box into my auto truck? :?

Series 1 Landrover bits free to good home.

Any body interested in Series 1 bits? They are cluttering up the old-mans shed, and the shed is on it's last legs with only the borer holding it up. The bits are from when I rebuilt this. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/badkiwi/LANDROVER002.jpg There are some body parts guards, wellside...

Thanks fallas, reading the dipstick while the egine is running made all the difference. It looked ok, I'll have another go tomorrow after I've driven to work and it's daylight.

Dumb dipstick Question

I just bought a safari, 1990 lwb auto. I'm not that experianced with autos, mine has done a few things to get me worried. It has usually preformed as it should(I think). But when it's cold it seems to change back and forth between top and overdrive. I've done the diagnostic thing that I found on her...

Thanks fallas, I'm starting to think that a SWB might be the ticket. I'll broaden my search to both. :D

Pros and cons of long and short Safaris.

I'm looking at buying one and have been looking at a few on trademe etc. I feel I need the space of a LBW (this will be a work wagon). But the SWB looks so much better, and there seems to be more around at cheaper prices. Anybody got any coments about the merits of one or the other? Towing, access t...

Safari cosmetics

I was looking through Trademe as ya do, and came across this SAFARI Which by the sounds of it could be had for cheaper than the asking price, but it's been hit by the ugly stick. I'd need a reasonably respectable vehicle for work, at least the bonnet and grill would have to be fixed on this wagon. W...

I had great fun with the rover, swaping parts, grinding, welding, etc etc. But then when I had to do it all again 6mths later for the next warrant it started to get a bit boring. It's got a 186 but is otherwise standard apart from the wheels.

New member/ Safari advice.

G'day, just joined your forum, nice place. :D I've been lurkin around here because I've decided to get a Safari or somthing similar. I need a fairly tough, reliable, and economical truck for work (possum trapper). At the moment I use a Mazda cabplus B2600 '96, it's ok but it chews through the gas an...
