Wonder if they'll bring any to NZ/Aus? the 6.4 V8 would be very fun off road I reckon, cause it's a hell of a lot of fun on the road!

Re: commodore v6 for hilux?

My ones sitting in Silverdale almost finished which I could probably sort out a mate to show you if ya wanted. Didn't do the original conversion but I'm now on my 3rd engine, 3rd body and complete rewire so know my way around it.

Re: Custom sump for 1uzfe in 84 hilux surf

I got one for the v6 in my hilux from http://www.asroilpans.com/ in aussie when I did my high steer. They're use to doing oil pans and pickups for hiluxes so would be very surprised if it's not a common one for them.

Re: 03 Grand Cherokee - Power steering pressure hose leak

I got a mobile pirtek guy to do a couple of hoses for me, would easily make that up. He made up a hose similar to the top half of yours with four fittings a bit of flex hose and bent up a piece of solid for 100 cash. Thought it was very reasonable.

Re: Wanting to do Cape York

See how the hire website says by-pass tracks. If you're wanting to do an off road trip to the cape you need a capable truck, not a rented ute with a kitchen. What about just using your mates trucks and then hiring dirt bikes, having turns on different days etc?? My mates go every year around Septemb...

Re: hilux steering

I've got an almost new steering system that I'm ripping out to replace with hi-steer. Will only have done 2000-3000ks since I put it on. J-arm, Relay rod, Drag link and Tie rods. All from Toyota. Got the steering box rebuilt too but there was a bit of wear inside the box so there's a small amount of...

Re: Not sure what to buy - Family vs 4wd....

I would agree with the dealer about the 3.0 patrol, my work mate got a new one at the start of the year and it's a lot of vehicle to move around with that motor. If you enjoyed the patrol, what about just getting a lwb? The 4.8 petrol ones are loved over here

Wrecking 3 litre V6 surf vzn130

As the title states. Have all seats, doors, Rear funny shaped windows. Most of the trim is still intact. Both front fenders stuffed. Drivers door has rust in the bottom, passenger front door has a bubble or two in the bottom, both rear doors look fine. Tailgate has small dent in it - doesn't affect ...

You'll never see a professional installing Swann. Ikegami or Samsung are very good, but can still be quite cheap.

Re: failed cert - after your opinions

You shouldn't need a remote booster on a surf, mine has passed two certs on 35s, still drums on the rear. Did you bed them in properly when you bought the pads, could be something as simple as that?

Re: VP commodore motor freshen up advice?

I just brought a new stage 4 (drag) memcal for my 5l vp. Haven't used it yet but supposed to give around 20% power but you will probably use 20% more fuel (trailer rig so doesnt matter) it uses the Hsv tune. They are surprisingly cheap on trademe at the moment. Wouldn't bother if I were you. Got a ...
