Re: long slow gq project

I found with trimming guards 35mm front and rear fitted 37s easily no body lift but had 4" lwb spring lift in a swb so you have 2"body and 2" spring 35s should clear as for the plastic bits cut em and make 5 or 6 90 deg brackets to hold flares in place

Re: Safari or Patrol Diffs

the mk/mq C200 diff std ratio was 4.6 and the problem for it being weak is the spider gear pin is 17mm if you drill it out to 19mm you can use a cruiser pin then you wont have this issue as you can see i had a lokka

Re: Safari or Patrol Diffs

99% of gq rear diffs are lsd to fit lockers you need open they are out there but rare of hell personally id shim the rear lsd they work great and auto in front which is 31 spline but most likely 2 pin spider

I can tell you from experience the mk/mq front 29 spline isnt as strong as a gq

lockright do front for gq also the rear mk/mq diff head is the same as front gq diff 31 spline

Re: Can you grease Y60 swivel hubs without disassembling?

Remove one of the kingpin bolts - grease-gun fits nicely in the threaded hole. It takes a full tube of grease to fill the hub... From memory if its never had the kingpin bearings replaced the above wont work.....they have a blanking plate from factory you have to remove these to replace outer beari...

Re: A frame towing WITH BRAKES.

look into electric brakes frame should be 1.6 m long (works for me ) NEVER lock the steering and the tow wagon should weigh more than framed one. curbs and uneven surface at low speed will cause some issues with steering but you learn quick a dolly works way better http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/tr...
