What's your budget like? Because I think the verdict is OME is still the best, but pricey.
Try Force4 for EFS gear, which I've found to be good quality and a bit more reasonably priced.

Using water? It's either dripping it on the road or coming out the tail pipe. Figuring out which is probably key to diagnosing your problem.
Is it getting hot? Smoking more than usual? Smell of coolant anywhere in or around the car?

Try the Otago Land Rover Owners Club, they have a monthly open day on their land out in Waitati.

I have found the guys at Anzor to be really helpful even with small orders. A lot of the big nut and bolt places are construction industry focused and unless you're buying 500 dynabolts they have no interest in helping you. I went in to a place once and asked if they had any 12x1.25mm hardware - guy...

The 185s are a nice wagon, and once the cooling issues are all sorted, should be good for another 20 years.

Auto transmissions cannot provide compression braking. (read engine braking, downhill control) This is not correct. I know you are keen on facts - the A440 provides engine braking with the shifter in the 2 and L positions, I know this because of 1) all the research I did when I electronically manua...

, also from what I have picked up on again.. no such afr measuring tool for a diesel for the Joe average.. so only way is black smoke indicator. Re: KZJ78 rear diff with electric lockers?
How much do you want it? They don't come up for sale that often, and are reasonably sought after. Int he aftermarket, the cheapest non-selectable locker (lokrite etc) will sting you around $400, plus install if you can't do it yourself, so this might be a good starting point. ARBs and other selectab...

That is a mean looking wagon. You might be waiting a while for someone with 25k to spend on a club truck. Good luck with the sale.

One place in the area that does get frequented often is Hull Rd, I've been through and was a pretty narly track in winter (multiple trucks required). Quite scenic too. Well yes, Ararimu Valley Rd does look like the redneck verge hacking capital of West Auckland. It's a mix of sealed and gravel road that is just a nice place to take a drive on a sunny arvo, but definitely no 4x4 opportunities unless you're into ripping up private property. http://i84.photobucket.co...

I've been Google Mapping Ararimu Valley Rd and Zanders Rd, looks like a well formed gravel road with a lot of lifestyle blocks and the like, but might head up there for a drive sometime just to check out the area.

I looked at the garden edging at Bunnings recently and felt it was way too rigid for my liking, so went to Para Rubber and got some 4.5mmx50mm rubber strip, think it was $7 a metre, nice and soft but thick enough to hold it's shape. Whatever you do don't buy the rubber flares from Repco, it's an abs...

Hey man, what do those swaybar disconnects look like when they're.. disconnected? Do you just pull those clevis pins out and the bottom of the link just hangs down?
I have been thinking about something similar for my 60 series but not quite sure what to make it out of.
