Re: Td27 temps
Huh, old thread. I was having brake problems at the time and the rear brakes were gripping due to being supplied the wrong brake master cylinder so the engine was working a lot harder than it needed to at 100km. She's now running between 92-95 open road. Still need to replace coolant as its real old...

Re: D21 rear brake issues
You didnt get a master cylinder for a rear drum brake terrano or navara by accident? They have a residual pressure valve in the rear circuit to maintain a little pressure in the drum brake circuit. This will prevent the callipers returning correctly. Good question that. Though I got the master cyli...

Re: D21 rear brake issues
Bled Correctly (up until recently was apprentice in motor trade). No blockages as it bled up fine. The previous master cylinder bust a seal, no corrosion. No proportioning valve. No vacuum leaks that I've noticed. No movement in wheel bearings and when rear rotors are removed can easily spin the axl...

Re: D21 rear brake issues
Ok so adjusting the freeboard in the pedal seemed to work but turns out it didn't. Still a lot of drag on the brakes! I tried adjusting the brake booster pushrod (nearly at min adjust) and has helped a little more but I'm still not happy. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Getting pretty ...

Worked a treat in the end, thanks. Still getting a bit hot at the rear end but presuming the wheel bearings are fried.
Just another job to add to the list.

Re: Td27 temps
Sender is in the top hose.
It's just a cheap from super cheap.
Hot afternoon and went for another open road run into the steaming N/W wind and it stayed steady at about 100*.
Might use that as the benchmark and button off if it gets much higher than that.

Good point! I never thought of that!
Thanks for that, I'll check it!
Seems it only really started when I changed the master cylinder so kinda makes sense.

Re: Td27 temps
Interesting. First run up the motorway and it got up to between 95-98* peaking at about 100* momentarily, the factory gauge was reading about 1/3-1/2. Back down to 85-90* at idle/town speeds and 1/4 on factory gauge. It's an el-cheapo electronic gauge and the red area starts at 100* so was unsure if...

Td27 temps
Hi all.
I've just installed a water temp gauge and just wondering what temps people notice on standard/modified td27t at 100km. What's normal, what's the danger zone etc
Cheers, Rhys.

D21 rear brake issues
Hi there. I'm having some issues with the rear brakes grabbing and wearing the pads prematurely (i.e. 6 months), plus creating a lot of heat which I'm sure isn't great for the wheel bearings.. I did a rear calliper rebuild not long ago, checked it all out last night while replacing the pads and the ...

WD21 mud flaps WTB
Hi all.
I'm having a prick of a time finding a set of mud flaps for my terrano. Does anybody have or know anybody that has a set they're willing to part with?
Or any leads to find some? Have rung around and nobody seems to have any.
'92 non wide body.
Christchurch area.
Cheers, Rhys.

Re: R50 buying
I was thinking about going down the R20 route but like both the exterior and interior shape of the R50 better.
Lack of ladder chassis isn't really an issue for me this time round as I'm not going to modify this one. Will be getting a second vehicle for that.

R50 buying
Hi all. I'm considering trading my D21 Terrano up to an R50 but am unsure whether to go with TD27eti or QD32eti. Will be used as daily/fishing/snowboarding vehicle so no proper offroad use. I know about the electronic injector pump issues with both but would like to know peoples preferences between ...

I had the privilege of having someone modify my truck for me. Now I have no cd player + a smashed rear passenger window. Got to love Auckland.. Had a lockrite in the front of my old Prado and it was terrible in the steering sometimes! Sorted! Think I'll go ahead and grab one!
As for the rims... What offset is everybody running?

It doesn't but I'm going to enquire about them today. Are you talking rockrite style lockers? I'd prefer selectable if that's the case.

ummmm.....the link is for the rear HB233 :? BTW, have had one of those for quite a few years (since T1), they were $1500 then and needed to be completely stripped and all O rings resized to the right specs :x Just removed it a couple of weeks ago because it wouldn't disengage. Hammered the shyt out...

Re: Show us your Nissan
Update time. A few extras now. Body lift, 265/75R16 Hankook RT03s on 16/7 rims, snorkel and new (to me) front bar. Setting it up for a bit of touring and getting to the better fishing spots. Roof cage and modifications to the swing away tyre carrier to come.
