Hi
Do a search on threads by truck-fixer he did some cool stuff with a v6 Vitara including the hub/wheel swap and setup a nice front bar with recovery points.
good luck,
Al

Re: Manual Hub
Mine used to always disengage while going forwards down a steep slope, in first low trying to slowly idle down. never happened with power on or in reverse. they would let go with a bang and away you went at speed.
sure i may have been able to fix them but i prefer manual hubs anyway.

Re: Manual Hub
I put some Super Winch manual hubs on my Vitara because the old auto hubs would let go just when you really needed them, always going down a steep slope which was exciting. I got mine from G guys motors in Welliington and have had them for 4 years and they have been sweet.

yeah, I have had them for quite a while so they must have been superseded by the AT2 and now they have both the AT2 and AT3 but the 3 looks a bit less All Terrain than the 2.

Re: Suzuki 16" tyres..
Hi I put some Dunlop Grandtrek AT1 235/60/16's on my 95 v6 Vitara and they have been great. they have lasted well and seem to go really well off road if you let them down a bit. pretty impressed for an AT tyre. :D also have a set of Hankook RT01 245/75/16's that go well but are so big they ruin the ...

it took me 8 hours 20 mins and my teammate did it in just under 7 hours. I would have been quicker if I had not had to keep stopping to puke over the last 10k's
Don't know if I would do it again, but I'm glad I did it.

Re: 20th - 22nd Feb
Walked 50k's at the Taupo Great lake relay so feet are sore, biggest blister I've ever had on side of my left foot. We did the two person team event and my teammate walked like a machine which gave me a big head start. We got a medal for coming 3rd place which was cool. Got home and checked results ...

That sounds way off, I get 500+ k's from a tank in my 95 2.0v6 Vitara around town and I don't drive it with economy in mind. the tank holds about 60l. the thing does drink the gas off road in low range .

Looks like my front diff was a victim at QBW as well, it had been leaking a little since then and I was not worried then I drove for 2 hours up to feilding on Friday night and on Saturday morning the diff had puked out heaps of oily watery foamy crap on my parents drive. it seems to be coming out we...

This may be a load of crap... :? but I had something that sounds the same a few years back with a Skyline I had. when turning full lock clockwise it would always make a loud bang half way through the turn and was so bad I started turning to full lock then coming back a fraction every time I needed t...

Re: New Pajero in the Sand
We went up there on a tour years ago in a converted Unimog bus, the thing was a beast. I was amazed to see normal tour buses down on the beach. the driver said he often had to pull them out. We parked in the stream that leads down to the beach to play on the huge dunes. it was a way cool vehicle :D ...

Re: V6 Escudo 3 door tyres
I have a set of 245/75/16's(about 30.9") on stock rims for my 5 door v6 and although the ground clearance is good they do hit the chassis rails and give it the turning circle of a bus. they are 14% bigger than stock so the gearing is crap. I find it much more fun to drive with my little at's an...

Re: v6 escudo with a mis-fire????
This may sound dumb, but I had the same problem with mine a few years back, after I went a bit over the top with the water blaster. I found water had got down where the spark plugs sit on the passenger side head and since they are recessed about 4 inchs down it was hard to get the water out. In the ...
