A couple of them are out now. Not sure if the "Nissan Pajero" made it though!

Also another vehicle stuck up Muriwai Beach past Wilsons Rd with high tide due in an hour.

Re: What are Isuzu D-Max Utes Like?

Isuzu D-Max does not have LSD rear diff. Only open diff but it has a very good traction control system allowing it to perform very well off road. For the money a D-Max is very good value and general very reliable.

Seems like run by 4 and Rotary guys. Previous ones have flopped so be interesting to see how this one goes, but if I want to play in mud its cheaper to go to Woodhill.

I think over time you will find it a nuisance and taking up valuable storage space in the rear.

The Defender has space for twin battery's in the current battery location.

Re: Auto-Lockers (Yes / No)

The Wrangler doesn't tend to have free wheeling hubs fitted and since you do use it occasionally on the road, then I would say no to auto locker in the front. There is no Torque delivered to front axle in 2wd, auto locker should not be a problem at all. It's used in Wranglers fairly commonly in US....

Doesn't look as though it has much of a lift in that photo, presuming it was taken after the 2 inch lift. Did you take before and after measurements to confirm the amount of lift? Remove the 'cups' on the axle housing mounts for the rear shocks to stop breaking the rear shock pins. Or alternatively ...

Have you got off road insurance cover? It has been known that insurance cover will pay for engine repairs in similar conditions.

Rather than a Nissan engine, a good 300tdi transplant would be preferable.

Looks like an aftermarket rim commonly referred to as 'Modular'
work out the PCD and the size of the centre hole and you might get an idea of what vehicle would suit.

Neither am I. They are OK on track cars but definitely not suitable on a 4WD that goes off road.
Don't filter enough of the really fine dust, clog up easily with dust and dirt and are a pain to clean, which also means they don't get cleaned regularly enough.

30-31 inch give or take depending on brand/type.

750x16 are more like 31.5 to 32 inches depending on brand.

The Defender 90 is a popular vehicle and anything for sale doesn't usually hang around for long. Hence they seem to command a premium price over similar 110's. And a truck cab 90 is a rare vehicle indeed. Lee European had one up for sale recently. Worth checking if still available. Had a few upgrade...

I wonder if that 2.8 was developed during Fords ownership, as they trademarked the brand 'power stroke' for their range of 6.7 and 7.3l V8 diesel units in the F250 and up Superduty line of trucks. The power stroke name only came about once sold to International Engines, which at time were producing...

Only issue I see is the front dislocation cones . Springs have to be retained or held by mounts at full droop on the hoist . They might also pull you up on any aftermarket steering components . and possibly require new brake hoses , pads and rotors . I would go with factory rims and tyre size ie 23...
