Re: Brake problems nissan safari
My old safari is doing similar things. The master has been rekitted a year ago, with all fluid changed same time. The only other change i can think of is a couple years ago i put some slotted discs on the front off trademe because the old ones failed a wof. Ever since them i have been trying to conv...

Minginui / Whirinaki Forest Area
Couldnt see a dedicated thread to this area> Went in over the long Labour weekend and found a lot the tracks are in a bad shape (would have to put down to the storm that washed out Edgecumbe over winter). Large washed out ruts up to 3 metres deep in places, tomo's opened up, various tracks under cut...

is this track still open? who do I contact in the NCC to arrange access? I was going to be in this area in late December was looking for something to do for a day. How are the track conditions? I would have an 80 series on 33 muddies, nothing hard out.

Re: 2017 Hilux, What does the power button do?
Had a quick play at work this evening, held foot at 1500rpm in second, pressed power, truck accelerates to 4000rpm without any depressing of the accelerator. Seems its set up for aggressive driving with better throttle response being a fly by wire. Actually quite impressed with the spec level of the...

Re: 2017 Hilux, What does the power button do?
Ha ha good luck . All it does is change the shift points in the auto . If your driving it like s lunatic round some corners it will make it rev out more before shifting and kick down earlier these are manual wagons 2wdI, I know what you are saying, i got an 80 series auto with the same thing but th...

2017 Hilux, What does the power button do?
Work must making some money as they have scored a couple new hilux's. Was wondering what the power button next to the gear stick does? Is that a bit of over boost function or something?

Re: 80 Series interior water leak... Go on Tu's, Laugh...
My 80 did leak from D pillar also, both sides, would fill the rear quarters and boot carpet would get wet. Pulled the external trim off the cabin vents and re-sealed around the vents where they sit against the chassis. You could see pretty easily the double sided seal tape was no longer sealing and...

Has it got the slide rear windows? When they get old and not cleaned where the window slides they start rusting and swelling inside window frame Patrols do it too  My last 80 had a leaky rear slide window and would leak down into bottom of rear quater Its got the solid windows. The water is a...

Yeah me either and getting annoyed as was planing on doing a bit of work to the old girl but if this persists might be getting a trade in on a Patrol! I have resealed the window trim chrome strips, the spare wheel hinge bolts, the side trim on the truck that have dowels that go through the body pane...

Re: 80 Series interior water leak... Go on Tu's, Laugh...
Digging up an old thread, I have a water leak that appears to becoming down the D pillar and pooling in the bottom of it and then spilling into the rear wheel arch area. Any issues found to do with the D pillar? I have pulled everything that can be and resealed, now wondering if water is spraying up...

Re: 42nd traverse
Went through on the mountainbike at the end of Nov just before it opened to vehicles: track was in decent condition, a few slippery bits but driveable by any proper 4wd on mud tyres I'd guess. The scrub is narrowing it up a bit in a lot of places though. Cheers Clint cool as thanks for that, more s...

Re: Chinese 'ARB Knock-Off' Air Compressor - Quality
Evening. I run a Chinese one in the rear of my Safari. I deal to my poor truck, runs 35 mickey t Baja claw's, quite a heavy tyre, never had any issues with it. The compressor supplied has a pressure switch that knocks off around 90psi. Before I installed it I did mic up all the components to check t...

Re: 80 Series Buyers guide
Hi there, picked up an 80 and seems to be going well. 12 valve motor, auto. I have to do a couple rust repairs to the front of the front inner guards. Do these come out or are they part of the body? The repairs can be done in place but would be nice if it was on a bench. Apart from that, have to dea...

Ok cheers for the window tip. Who does the best lift kits for these beasts? Was planning. To fit up to 35's so 4inch lift should do the trick? With a 4 inch lift do you need extended arms and things?

Re: 80 Series Buyers guide
Bought one, right about the windows, ones dead and one is very slow. Found it was fairly rusty on the front inner guards right down the front where the panel bolts to the bottom radiator support by the look of things. Are they known for this? At a guess they look like they have some sound dampening ...

Re: 80 Series Buyers guide
Rogger some trucks just get electrical gremlins. I have been looking into a few mods mostly reliablity ones, intercoolers, exhaust etc. I already have a swb safari club truck with the cool bits so with any luck the new 80 will be following in its footsteps.
