Re: pto driven hydraulic winch

Yes my advice was that yes i could flow 80 tp 100ltrs at 700rpm i could not get enough pressure. As flow is drum rotation which is then directly linked to rope speed. Pressure is winch motor pulling power. More pressure equals more pull. Im flowing around 85 to 110ltrs/m and std winching sits around...

Re: pto driven hydraulic winch

currently have Lexus auto with surf transfercase, which we all know has no pto drive... I have a plan which envoles some cutting and welding or plan b is a prado case but offset drive. plan a is to make a 70 series pto fit, so gear ratios should be similar to a factory prado set up. Re: pto driven hydraulic winch

Just thinkin....
If youve got the mid to late 80's l.c. auto theres a good chance of running a pto.

The l.c. auto has a small brake fitted into it to stop the trans from rotating whislt engageing gears whilst transfur box is disconnected. This unit would suit any pto set up.

Re: pto driven hydraulic winch

1st thing you need to confirm is if your auto can take a auto? If its running a early prado then possibly yes. If not then you will need to look at driving off the crank pully. Or doing serious mods to auto rear tail output shaft into transfur box. Off hand there is a set up where a 2nd transfur box...

Sweet that sounds like the business. H.d. will be better thsn the low stall. Although that will help keep it engaged which will then help trans temps

Fyi 25% loss of cooling per core. Better to go bigger then thicker. I found the y60 or vx80 rads are only 3 core but and lot bigger than old fj40/60/70 rads and cooled v8 way better than the custom rads i had made to fit the same space as the o.e. Had to mod the front to fit etc but she dont get hot...

I would have thought that if they supply a kit to fit my model cruiser then all the bits supplied should go straight in. If it requires a different (ie after market) spindle then that should be supplied in the kit or at the very least stated that an after market spindle needs to be purchased in ord...

Re: 80 Series front swivel hub rebuild

The needle roller set up was supplied at first as aftermarket replacements. Best of my knowledge was it fitted into a new spindle hub assembly that was made to house the bearings. Unless the rollers come with some kind of housing set up i would guess that i will not fit into a std cruiser. That said...

To the god squad gvm is gvm as in gross vehicle mass or max loaded vehicle simple. Gcm isnt gvm plus gtm. Gcm is gross combined so the tow vehicle may need to off load if towing a gtm trailer to get under gcm. Currently studing gsl booklet. Biggest issue here is that the vehicle would need that info...

Airs the ticket. It will hold it ready to pop to free. Quick tap reverse and it should pop straight out. It will hold the gear pressed ready to engaged and as soon as aligned it will pop back in. Will be way better than cable imho

That would be a good candidate for a LS1 transplant. Would end up cheaper on fuel than a 3fe motor which is a gutless p.o.s motor

Re: Warn 8274 DIY upgrades

um yeah but naaah... the hub will turn so it will eventually wind up the rope or similar to a point where it will pull it to free spool. even installing a swivel my guess once full of mud would bind and then start creating issues.

nice job on the rest tho 8)
