Give them a good long charge if you haven't already with a decent charger and then check the voltage under load for a drop. It's not enough to use the vehicle to charge them even if you go for a decent hoon in my own experience. I have a proper 10 amp conditioning charger, fully conditioned both (d...

So after destroying a shit load of fuel driving around the sth island i thought i might try to sort out the fuel use, 3.9 rover v8, at best 5.75ks to the litre or 17.4 to the hundred, dont really care about the rate of fuel use if it had the power to match the input !!! so fitted a innovate AFR met...

Thanks man! My old man was getting shafted by a crowd that said you couldn't buy them aftermarket now and I took him at face value.
Since then they managed to MOVE the second alternator to another bracket they made, which has now broken, all because they couldn't find the right belt.

Hey,
Does anyone know where you can get these after market these days, or is genuine the only way to go?
Cheers,
Taz

Can't flip the starter gear :-( Unless I'm missing something. Might be able to cut it back and space it forwards again but the gear is machined with a shaft on the other side. Will try source a gear or replacement starter before flipping the flywheel. Don't have the gear to do that myself. Any recom...

Re: Is this farked?
Not the worst Suzuki fly wheel I have seen You should be able to flip the gear on the starter over and the cleanup the flywheel a little and it will go for ages . Worst case you can heat up , remove and flip the ring on the flywheel . Clean out the starter real good and make sure the through out me...

Re: Is this farked?
what caused it is the question. The solenoid not throwing the gear out far enough on the shaft of the starter to engage the ring gear properly? It was grinding after starting. I should have looked at it sooner as now it won't engage at all. You can't get off the key quick enough because it's an old...

Re: Hey everyone, I'm new to the 4wd scene.
Nothing is bulletproof. Certain marques and models excel in certain areas and not so much in others (that is to say every vehicle has it's pros and cons) especially once you start modding them. By the time you have to start worrying about water with a petrol there are a few other things you should h...

Re: Hey everyone, I'm new to the 4wd scene.
Buying is half the fun and for 7k you will get something pretty decent. Everything has it's pros and cons. I really like the wee Zuks but I wouldn't get one if it was to be a daily driver or if I had a dog. Terranos seem to go pretty cheap and you can get cheap parts for them too, but you need to ch...

There are only so many times Jed will want to come for a night time dip with me and my bike so I'd be picky with the rivers
We'll see. Might even be better to just come for a beer and a catch up with a few faces.

I've had 2 sets of generic el cheapo racks off tardme that fitted Safari/Patrol gutters. I think I still have a set in the garage. I can't remember if I had them on my high roof, but there wouldn't be much in it make em taller. See what's on there in Chch and go view some to see if they fit, then yo...

What do you want duels on the rear for out of interest? Will be to wide too be practical for a lot of tracks if you take that road, otherwise if you retain the same width I'm not sure there would be a point to doing it..? Enjoy the beast either way. They are great trucks and I often miss my old high...
