Re: R 151 TRANSPLANT ISSUES
I think the R series box has a different input shaft spline count that the W and G series, might not be correct but that's what I had heard. Also I thought that the V6 had the chain drive case which is I think the R150F and the diesel had the R151F which is gear driven. Matt. probably all wot u sai...

[quote="LOLYF"]Can i ask what you think is wrong with the chain drive transfer cases?[/quo I just reckon theres too many components in them that i think are vulnerable to failure and therefore cost (chain, palnetary gears, electric actuating mechanism to name some) whereas the idler gear t...
Re: 1KZ-TE
Thanks Jocko, You have cleared up a lot questions that I won,t have to post up now. After making a template of the end of my gearbox where you unbolt the transfer case and going to a few wreckers, found that it matched all the R-series boxes that I tried it on. So all I have to do now is buy the ad...

Re: maxitrac
me 91 d cab hilux had same thing with maxi tracs (and monroe gas magnums), i reckon what the person said about loosening the u bolts is on to a big piece of the puzzle, mine loosened it's own as they do on first install (i'd torque wrenched them up), i then kept checking it after any decent distance...
