Toyota HiAce Service Manual required

This has nothing to do with 4WD'ing however the workhorse HiAce helps earn the necessary funds to enjoy a Suzuki SJ410 that we have had for about 17 years. The HiAce has a broken windscreen wiper stem housing (the alloy part that supports the rotating stem through the body), a non functioning horn c...

Re: Best place to buy synthetic winch rope?

10mm Dyneema is $6 per metre here at winch.co.nz

Is this a reputable supplier and a good brand of rope?

If it's of any help, the co-ordinates are attached here. The file will also open in Google Earth. Pretty dense looking forest! A plain .gpx file is not allowed so it has been zipped.

Re: Optima Yellow Top Problems

I got a Optima red top battery last week for $390. The Optima yellow top was priced at $450.
Try Riccarton Auto Electric Centre.
My 2003 Excide Orbital is still going well but on the heavy discharge test is showing it's age - very impressed though as it's been run flat many times.

That's a fine looking bit of machining Ben. Do you sell either kit? I had not thought about the handbrake - the centre one seems fine but would be interested in the built-in handbrake. Thanks - Tony.

Re: Suzuki rear disc brake conversion

I need a rear disc conversion for my SJ410. I'm located in Christchurch but the Suzuki will soon be transported to Invercargill. Any tips on if this offer is still available - or who could do the work in either city would be appreciated. Thanks - Tony

Sometimes I've been able to fix the most frustrating electric window problems by taking a switch apart and slightly adjusting the angle of the boomerang shaped copper contact. They can get a little flattened out with years of use. Take care though if dismantling a switch as there's a couple of sprin...

Thanks very much for the offer to help towing - I'm quite happy though to arrange for 2 vehicles to go, leaving one at the downstream end or just take a bicycle in the back as it's about 20km back to the start point. On the other hand if any other A frame vehicles are going we can simply turn around...

The scoring was a joke  if you went on to the course a stoped straight away you got 100 points if you went on and had to reverced (which most people had to do cause it was so tight) and nocked over two pegs you got 140 points. :? :? :? :? out of my 2200 odd points 1600 was due to revercing S...

Nice setup - some dashes are too curved for the dash mount but that looks good. Looks like the heel of the GPS is resting on the dash too - that's a good plan to minimise vibration of the screen on corrugated roads.

Hi - I have a SJ 410, chassis NZ 00334, standard 1 litre engine type F10A. I'm not very happy with the carburettor as it hesitates under acceleration and seems to flood easily. A quick 'net search shows the standard carb is commonly replaced. Our use is pretty mild - trips up rivers for picnics and ...

I used 12mm inside diameter clear plastic hose for breathers as I can then use the hoses as an easy way to add the diff oil. The filler plug on the diff still needs to be taken out, or very loose, so the air can escape.

Doesn't have to be clear hose but it's easier knowing where the oil is.
