Front anti-roll bar Vitara/Grand Vitara

Has anyone removed the front anti-roll bar in their Vitara/Grand Vitara? Can you advise if the handling is affected too much? I stripped out the thread on one of the captive nuts in the chassis while replacing my clutch. In hindsight I should have left the bar in place. Should I try tapping it out t...

Re: Grand vitara recovery points

I grinded off the recovery hoop on the front of my GV can't remember why now but I think it might have interferred with the hook I installed. I drilled right through the chassis just above the remnants of the hoop and put three bolts (two of which go through the hook) through the chassis with plates...

Stuffed around with my Hilux and got it started for the first time in about 8 months. Then extracted the rear diff out of my Suzuki so I can get a lock-right fitted.
Also bought a new tool - a cordless impact wrench

Re: Pinion Bearing thrashed

If you go for a secondhand diff you can get your GV 26 spline sidegears put in an older style diff and get rid of the air actuator at the same time.
Don't know the specifics as my replacement diff came assembled like that.

Glowplug Diagnostics?

The glowplugs have stopped working on my hilux. It's a 1985 LN65 running a 5L on the original 2L glowplug wiring etc. The glow dash light stopped working recently and the glowplugs definitely aren't working. Vehicle still starts only it takes a lot of cranking. Where do I start?

Re: Cooked Surf options

You could consider a 5l motor from a hiace. Although the price probably starts at around 2k for a half decent one. I don't know what they go for in Turners wreck auctions (as a complete vehicle)
Edit: just noticed you said 1kz not 2.4 so ignore this
