Be easy. Just get some caps to plug the steering box. Remove ram and hoses and replace with a dampener :wink:

Castor bushes will do the job but tend to wear quicker than factory bushes with drop boxes. 3" is about as far as you can go before you'll run into issues with the rear driveshaft uj angles on a swb. However in the grand scheme of things 3" isn't a lot of lift. Coils Shocks Adjustable panh...

Good "out of the box" thinking there Tom. Just doesn't sound like a caster type problem.


I agree. I am for +6° castor . Factory is +3.5° .. or some thing close to that

I've seen u bolts catch. The best fix is hi-steer tbh. Do that and you'll never go back.

It's a must have. Egt will tell you it's getting hot a long time before the temp gauge. Our daily kzn130 surf has nearly 400000km with the factory head. Other than that gauge and a water temp gauge it's 100% standard on 31s. Yes it gets hot (especially with 3t of landcruiser and trailer behind it lo...

I too use a chuck of I beam (well actually 2 pieces of 200mm channel welded back to back) with chains and a bottle jack. Cheap jig to build, works mint.
