Re: 80 series 12 or 24 v
All 80 series landcruisers with 2 batteries are 12 volt but with 24 volt starting via a big relay by the passengers side battery, leave this battery alone. You should only ever connect any accessories like winch etc to the drivers side battery as it always remains the 12 volt There are some budget n...

Re: scan tool power
Not being rude but the diagnostic plug under the bonnet is definitely meant to have power in it, our scantools power up off just that plug This may help to figure out why its not going. Normally ABS & Airbag lights should come on when components or ecu's are unplugged. Maybe your missing a power...

Yeah you need to identify the steering wheel control wires on the car and connect them to the ones on the radio then go into settings and learn the buttons.
You shouldn't need any interface for a double din Phillips radio

Re: Poptop camper setup for offroad adventures.
Hi. Just wondering how the camper has held up to rough roads and off road.
I'm looking at getting a camper trailer or modding a pop top. Just thought the pop top being wood etc might still fall apart over time
Cheers
Brendon

Alternator plug is Blue = neutral, Green = field & Black = earth
Then the regulator should be as pic attached. I believe pic is looking into diconnected regulator plug. Code isn't for wire colour but for its function i.e L is light, N is neutral etc

No don't try and join the aircon hoses your self. They will need to be made up by an aircon shop for you.
I do aircon and hose clamps on a joiner won't work
As for the pumps I'm not sure if they're same but would think they would be much different

From factory the early bighorns had a 50 amp alternator and then the later ones had an 80 amp one. Might pay to check what yours has

Autos load the engine more and have the trans cooler in the radiator.
But most problems will be common. A good radiator and good working viscous fan should keep temps normal

Take it to the place whos fixing your alternator and get it checked properly. Make sure it has the correct regulator fitted.
Check the wiring to the alternator as can break wires under air filter box

I looked up your alternator and the better replacement is a Bosch BXH1238. It is the same just 70amp output. Don't bother with those led bulbs if your wanting better light go with HID. Also if your wanting to get a warrant you are only allowed 2 spotlights and they have to be wired so they can only ...

Just a note i read in your mates auction that he has 16 inch rims. So his tyres are probably 285/75 16 which is what i am running. These are 33 inch in diameter but not 12.5 inchs wide only 11 I think
So if they rub then 12.5's will rub heaps.
Just a thought

Since you've fitted the higher wattage bulbs you need to fit a relay/wiring kit to the headlights otherwise you're going to burn out your h/l switch The relay kit will also put higher voltage to the bulbs as won't have voltage drop You will need a Toyota specific kit as Toyota switch the headlight d...

Older nissans had fusable link wire instead of main fuses.
These are special bits of wire just off the battery positive terminal and usually unplug. Check these out
You have most probably damaged the alternator as well. But need to get it going first then check it out
