Re: Stupid one last hill - 1991 Nissan Safari Damage

Hey Stu, Steve Stewart just wrote off his Safari, hit a log on the beach doing 50k, totally f##k@d the truck, but hes bought another off Allan Jackson to make one out of 2. Might be able to scrounge some bits off him. Pete has done in a few CVs since putting in his auto locker and big tyres :(

Re: what gearbox is this? 3pd auto from what...

I know vh valiants had the dip stick on the other side and it came out of the sump. The bolts in your pic at the rear with blue locktite are what Ford used. Then you had Chrysler avenger, leyland etc used BW trans, also Jag. But I would take a stab its ford. Bel housings were interchangable on BW35s...

Re: Landyrovers rover for sale

Bought pump off TM, Steve B I think was his user name. Pipe sticking out at rear is inlet, find a water sourse, river etc, hose outlet on right and have switch in cab. Self priming, works good http://i762.photobucket.com/albums/xx264/dfm868/DSCF0049.jpg?t=1305063715 http://i762.photobucket.com/album...

Re: repco oil

For all out there, Repco oil is now Penrite. Used to be Mobil. Last two 208ltr drums Ive brought have been Penrite and I personally think its a good product. Nearly all modern oils carry a S and C rating so ok for LIGHT diesel applications, utes, vans etc, anything much bigger should use a diesel on...

Re: manual box for behind a 245 hemi.... suggestions

Could try a FJ 40 box, or Ive seen a Nissan Atlas truck box with a Landrover transfer adapted to it. Saw it on TM awhile ago and was nearly going to buy it. Would of had to move engine further forward which put me off.

Re: Terrano R50 TD27 bad idle stalls- intermittant

Was a 96 R50, the scanner didnt have any presets for Nissan diesels so tried using OBD2 and got results. Its not a bad scanner but find you have to work outside the square when using it on some vehicles.

Re: Terrano R50 TD27 bad idle stalls- intermittant

Thanks for that Rangimotors - I don't suppose you know just what in the pump was faulty? I do suspect that's what is wrong with mine but I'm still working on narrowing it down - incidentally Crash and Landy the protocol and 14p connector on this ('96) R50 is Nissan Consul, not OBD2. That's ok 'cos ...

Re: Series 2 diff heads

They are much lower, you'd need hooooge tyres to warrant that low, I had a rangie for a short time with LR diffs, it was ooober low. I think most would say the RR ones are stronger too. 3.5:1s have bigger pinion. They will go in a Rangie, but if running large wheels you'll bust them, spider pin and...
