I had a 2.8 hilux on 33's and it was getting 14.5 litres per 100 kms.... when I was running 31's it was getting 12 litres per 100 kms. That was with fresh oil and additives.... I don't think a surf would be too much different as it will have the aerodynamics of a brick also....

there are a few options available... you could have a plate made up with the hook bolted to it, which you then swap over with your tow bar when you go off road, otherwise under an engineers supervision weld a plate to the main bar on the towbar and bolt the hook to that. I think up to a certain degree you have to check every componant out on a truck when you own one and even more so once modified. If you have lifted it, running bigger tyres etc you are greatly increasing the stress on the componants and they will wear out far faster than origionally. If you have not...
