The problem we (HBMTB club) found wasn't us it was the land owners... because they were concerned about there liability for allowing us access there solution was simple... keep us out, alot of farm land is closed just for this reason That was why we did the club liability insurance and encouraged m...

So what about Thompsons? NZFWDA asked us to stay out, so we did. You also said that NZFWDA was working positively with the council in regards to reconstituting the track..... doesnt matter what laws are brought about in what ever aspect there are those that wont obey .... i myself dont see why i should have to pay to go thru tracks as a comercial trip or be a member of a club just because there are a few dickwads out there These tracks require maintance to keep them ope...

Even if clubs manage the tracks and trips differently its not all doom and gloom. it only requires one member to be permit and hazop trained ; write a permit , establish a plan and control measures for hazards , identify stakeholders and establish a rescue and recovery plan. Because people drove it when it was closed the council who are responcable for its upkeep will not touch it plus where to put the spoil from moving slips ect so we are in a catch 22 position, not sure if someone took a machine in would they be congratulated or fined. I have had a couple of 413 where i have removed the fan and replaced the radiator with a mitzi mirage unit, complete with fan and heat sensors in the bottom of the radiator. fitted in easily and worked like magic. Still a few places left. Just had an extra property added so less than 3Km of on road driving in the morning then back at the start point for lunch. different direction in the afternoon.

Usually you take your own vehicle on club trips, but if you contact a club they will probably arrange a seat in someone else vehicle if that is what you want. List of clubs and contact details are here
