Re: mistral TD27 oil coller mod?

haven't had injectors looked at for 100,000k so that could be an issue egr has been removed, viscous fan is working. I have a mate with a qd32 terrano and he has the same heat issues as me under the same conditions. Had the same problem with two previous trucks also, a mkI terrano and a Daihatsu rug...

mistral TD27 oil coller mod?

I have a 97 mistral the one with the dual headlights. I tow a boat and dirtbike trailer with it regularly often to altitude on steep tracks. It gets really hot at times even if I take it easy and chuck it in low on a hot day. I have done the head and the radiator is new, the cooling system is in goo...

Re: nissan mistral bunny hopping when wet?

The weird thing about it is it's very intermittent I drove it from central otago to Dunedin today so lots of hills and it only did it on one hill. On Tuesday I towed a 4M alloy pontoon boat plus 3 guys and gear into central otago and no issues but it was dry. Today it was pissing down rain and it wa...

nissan mistral bunny hopping when wet?

I have a 97 Mistral the one with the round headlights/bonnet scoop. Anyhow it has an intermittent fault, this has occurred twice in the last three weeks. Both times it has occurred on an uphill section of tarseal doing about 100kph it was raining steadily both times. Both times I was towing a light ...

Re: dodgy 97 mistral auto

http://bebrs.pie-dabas.net/Webs/Terrano/R20/at.pdf here is a handy document for the mistral auto the fault chart in here tells me that the auto sparky is likely on the money with the speed sensor given the symptoms and here is one for the R50 terrano http://bebrs.pie-dabas.net/Webs/Terrano/R50/at.pdf

Re: dodgy 97 mistral auto

So I took the truck to an auto place he had a quick play and sent me to an auto sparky. The sparky hooked a tester up to the computer, jacked the rear up ran it, took it for a drive, scanned it twice and found that it has an electrical fault. Two fault codes are coming up it looks like both speed se...

Re: dodgy 97 mistral auto

If it were in limp home mode surely it wouldn't spontaneously recover for a short while and then return to the way it was again? (at least if it was a blown fuse). The engine was not removed to do the pump, but I will check the pins. cheers

dodgy 97 mistral auto

So after getting my diesel pump replaced the fun continued. The auto started acting weird. First when I start the truck and pull away in D it seemed to take ages and heaps of revs to get "up on the plane" it felt like it was starting in 2nd not 1st. Then I was off fishing and stopped for a...

Re: Gutless 97 mistral 27TDeti

So I took it to a diesel mech. The pump body was flogged out and the electropnic govener was shagged so $1600 for replacement pump plus fitting. Goes a lot better but still not sensational

Thankfully it is still under warranty now the auto has shit itself see my new post!!

Gutless 97 mistral 27TDeti

I just bought one of the above in a 5 door 136K. It seems OK on the flat ticks along at 110 or 120 no worries although it takes a while to get there. On hills its hopeless (got it in christchurch so didn't do a hill test) my mates R50 shape 96 2.7TD auto terrano and I don't think that's got the inte...

Do the short wheel base mistrals ride OK compared to the long? Starting to think a short wheel base 97 onwards mistral might be worth serious consideration

Re: Terrano - Swap dead ZD30 for QD32?

There is an outfit in kaiapoi near christchurch http://www.kaiapoirepowers.co.nz/services/ that specialises in doing this. Part of the subframe needs to be transferred from the QD32 truck into the Z30 truck as well to get the mounts sorted. I heard it costs some where in the region of 4-5K including...

mistrals...

Currently driving an old Daihatsu rugger, still going strong but parts are starting to be an issue. I would like a 2.7 manual R50 terrano, or even a QD32 auto but they are scarce and probably a bit out of my price range. I see a few mistrals floating around that have under 200K and are affordable. If you look in behind the left mirror you can see that they have wrecked the drive for the electric adjustment. Grrrr warrant is due too http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h116/lurchernz/mirrorleft_Layer1.jpg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h116/lurchernz/mirrorright_Layer1.jpg

Re: freaky rugger wobble

If its leaf sprung it will not have panhard rods, so no panhard bushs to replace. Think you got tucked at your WOF??? I don't know anything about this shit but you had me going so I crawled under there and also looked at wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panhard_rod It has one of them on the f...

freaky rugger wobble

I have a daihatsu rugger leaf springs all round model. If I load it up with (at a guess 2-300 kgs) in the back it rides fine except on some corners it develops this scary side to side body wobble. The front springs could do with a reset. It just got a warrant and a panhard bush was replaced. It has ...
