Re: Help Wanted - Dr250 wont start
May be bait late for you Jake . Spark ok , carb suspect but let's assume it's ok. Just check that compression is ok when you kick it over, with recent top end work valve gear may have settled a bit. Way too much tappet clearance or to little can affect compression so check this again maybe. This was...

Re: smokey engine on start up??
yes agreed , had black smoke in mind for poor injection but yes white smoke can be injectors , more blue for oil burn. Injectors will be less labour than valve seals and more likely I think , probably find when you test them that crack off pressure is low due to springs worn , always good to know yo...

Re: smokey engine on start up??
Ok if valve seals leaking , some oil from up top will run into cylinder and burn off at start up , the effect of this will reduce as engine warms up. Oil rings at bottom of piston return excess oil to sump from cylinder liner , if these are damaged or worn it will generally blow all the time. Note t...

Re: smokey engine on start up??
Assuming its blue ish coloured smoke , clears when warmed up could be valve seals ? First choice would have been glow plugs but you have checked these, think they have full voltage as water temp increasesinitially then controller decreases voltage , on that model. Possibly oil control rings. If blac...

Re: Dirtbike buying advice?
good choice As previously mentioned , invest in some good gear , in addition to boots , lid etc Knee guards and body armour can save serious injury , especially for learner. Some would not call that strictly a learner bike , but with due care you will have alot of fun with plenty on tap as you progr...

SKF LM501349/Q . they have 19mm wide which has suffix 310 on end of number. My existing bearing is 19mm , the ...

That bar, winch and snorkle could stand out , also what were the tyres and rim details. Might be spotted , they got to shoiw up somewhere. Re: my turbo fittment
If you have already drilled bit of a pilot hole , get a good quality 8mm drill , thats slightly smaller than the tapping drill size so providing initial hole is center , you wont damage thread to much. Remove remaining bits as suggested previous then run correct size tap down if you need to. The pit...

Re: lifting my nissan patrol
Those springs will probably compress about 75 to 100mm under load depending on spring rate and if you have extra weight on front such as winch etc. I put similar set on my LWB ,Raw shocks but went with cobra 60mm springs as a bit firmer for towing. The intial lift was about 90mm but original springs...
