Talk to Phil from Force4. 6" is a big lift, might have trouble getting a low volume cert for that.

Watch out for how close the exhaust is to the clutch slave cylinder & lines, probably best to carry a spare slave cylinder.

Might need a air diverter to get flow over the fans/radiator. A piece of perspex bolted to the rear cage protruding above the roof line might do it.

My truck has progressed somewhat from those days... You can buy new calipers at a good price from onlineauto.com/au.
I've changed my whole system, gone hydro boost now,4 pot hilux calipers in the rear for better fiddle brakes, stops good now!.
Truck is not road legal

What a bugger it's finishing, always wanted to do this but something always got in the way. What type of event is going to replace it? Main thing will be timing, South Island series starts that weekend too & theirs a winch challenge in Hawkes Bay the weekend prior. Might be helpful if organisers...

Oil pressure TD42
I've recently put a new (2nd hand) TD42 in my truck & I turned it over with the fuel solenoid disconnected to get oil pressure up prior to starting it. Had the oil feed to the turbo disconnected so we could see the oil flowing. After cranking it over for ages the oil light was still on & no ...

45A-AC1-DDAA-1BA this is 24v, the 12v has one different letter (I think, been a while). Ask for the waterproof mod 532F. http://www.macvalves.co.nz/ talk to them & they'll sort out the correct one.

Re: Putting a GU Patrol diff and factory locker into a GQ Safari
Is your GU petrol? If diesel it will have a vacuum pump for brakes. You can buy a Mac Valve to replace the factory solenoid, much better & faster. You can also use very low air PRESSURE to activate.
If your interested I can dig out the part # for the Mac Valve.

There's actually quite a few, if I knew how to post a photo I would. One below the oil filter housing, 2 behind the injector pump & 2 more behind the alternator bracket. I've unscrewed the oil filter one, definitely oil haven't done the others but look like oil feed.

Re: TD42 oil gallery ports and sump
There's a port on passenger side between the engine mount, usually used for an oil feed to a aftermarket turbo. I've got a couple of motors sitting around & will have a look if I find anymore I'll let you know.

Re: Safari GQ broken PTO drum
Make sure the fairlead is a bit narrower than the drum, stops the rope jumping the edge of the drum. Get a shaft out of an earlier model PTO, they are longer & make a wider steel drum.

Looks normal. Just make sure it's rotated to the correct spot, at the top of the spring where it sits in the tower you'll see a indentation for the spring. Good to see it's on the correct side, many don't check.

Re: Help with PTO winch service
Alloy drums are fine, get rid of the wire & fit a narrower fairlead so the rope doesn't come off the side of the drum. These winches bind up when fitting them, to make sure you get the freespool working properly you may have to shim the mounting bolts. Bolt it up first, it may freespool fine if ...

Probably a bit expensive, but people are asking silly prices for them now days. Factory turbo will still be a bit gutless, needs an aftermarket turbo, plenty of options. For that price you could get a GU, later model, nicer vehicle but would have higher mileage.
