Hardly going off track and ripping up the ground.. its open to 4wds.. dont think iv ever been out wheeling and not flung some mud around trying to get places. Doubt anyone that goes up there does it without breaking a bit of traction.

WTB: Pajero R/R axle
As title im after a pajero axle for a mate. Dont really know my mitsis but his truck is a second generation swb with the triple diff lock.
I think being rear lock diff the axles are different?
Any help or tips on where to find one or if anyone has one would be awesome.

3Ls are bit of a prick compared to other engines like 1kz 1hd etc. need to remove crank pulley so may need a puller to get off. I find removing radiator helps for an extra 15min to remove it gives alot of space but they are fairly straight forward if you know cambelts.

my mate has a lj78 2lte auto running 37s and as much as everyone bags them it goes fine is a lil slow but what diesel isn't? spins them in the mud fine too and goes up hills sweet, just the whole head cracking issue bout them but 1kz's crack heads like no tomorrow too..

you max out height wise around 3" suspension lift. more downward flex needs longer springs fitted to get anything decent. hilux stock set up is crap. a bit of work to get it good I'm going through it all atm with mine. went drop crossmember with shackles and 2" lift springs with hi steer. ...

The man, il track some rears down now then, iv heard IFS surf rear springs are best to use not my hilux ute rears? also will 2" lifted rear springs be too much or what i need? arrrrggghh so much more than i thought i was doing haha love it.

Thanks Tom, great info.. i want to do RUF and falcons in the back but i thought id set it up with standard springs at the moment and see how i go, definitely want to change springs some point tho as the standard hilux ones are such a hard ride aswell as poor flex, what length shocks do you guys use ...
