Re: Westcoast easter weekend

Sounds like you guys put in a good solid effort on the track clearing side of things in the weekend.
Thanks for doing your bit as if all 4wders in general did a day a year the tracks would be a lot easier to maintain.

Cheers

Re: bulletproof Chasm track re opened

The Sinda club have spent a good amount of time and effort to tidy up the hut at the bottom of Greenland to the point of making enough for camp sites. Heaps of history in that hill as they found lots of old mining stuff to keep them entertained for three days.

Re: bulletproof Chasm track re opened

I know of a couple keen guys from ChCh heading in there this weekend. I am sure they will have fun aswell. Sounds like it isn't getting any easier but that's not a bad thing either.

Re: Lift Law Changes -Where are things at now?

There has been a fair few conversions and opinions through out this thread so I thought I would put me 2 cents in aswell from a builders point of view ( as I am ). Keep in mind that all Combined reps are keen 4wders but have full time jobs to attend to at the end of the day. Combined 4WD Clubs Inc h...

Re: More bad rep.

Shame, as we only just had the head of DOC down to talk about how good the relationship is between the 4wd clubs and DOC. I've sent this off to some of the Combined Committee, they can decide what to do next. Very sad to see. I was part of a group last Fri afternoon that meet with Lou Sanderson, th...

Re: Intrigued by LVVTA statement over modified suspension

It has never been NZ4WD Association against Combined 4wd Clubs. The point of the whole thing is why should a keen 4wder (whether they are in a club or not) be pushed into a position that he/she has to join the NZ4WD Association due to the modifications that they have done to their 4wd which complies...

Re: ----- Leaving Rubbish, Theft, Vandalism, Cutting Fences

Been out to the North side of the Waimak (off Diversion Rd) a few times last week and again today. Tracks and roads were pretty tidy during the week, totally different on the weekend though. Glass bottles and rubbish everywhere, some dickheads had obviously been doing donuts and drifting up and dow...

Try the Ashley north bank up from Dunlop's Rd. NC4WD had 14 trucks up to the Ohuku last weekend. Good water flow in the river and side tracks were changeling with 33's. I might be up there Sunday clearing trees. Nig

Re: 70 series spring over conversion questions and

Mate did a spring over on his 70. It had 50mm after market springs and a body lift on 35's. Had a lot of body roll but got it cert. Had a few issues (brock) with the passenger steering arm since it was on top not underneath but I think Tom has a good solution for that. He is the one we send into dee...

Re: bulletproof Chasm track re opened

It has been rebuilt with rocks from the bank. I heard a group went in there and used a ground anchor/winch to bring some of the bank down. You will have to winch up ramp to get out of the Chasem I would be guessing. Nig

I have been lucky enough to be able to hed to the Reefton area for around 20yrs ( basing myself all of next week 4wding in the area). The place has changed over the years but you can still pick and choose your tracks depending on your truck and your budget. Yes, you need a winch if doing Chasem or S...

Re: Ashley River Endangered chicks

Combined have a few signs down there already ( we may have to put a few more up) and wire ropes running thru wooden posts have been put up along with tank traps been dug but the public can enter the riverbed for swimming. It may be more of an education program I think that is required. Get the local...
