the flashing indicator is very common for pajero, especially that comes from Japan recently.
It was likely the sensor biut nothing worry about. Mine did first few trips, but it settled after that. Mostlikely it was because not much used before..

500km in full tank is just about it and not so bad. I fit KN panel filter but not much improve in economy wise. It's good for on-road use, but I prefer Mitui original filter for off-road use. Mitui one is very good quality even compare to others. I also fit HyClone since it claims to improve fuel ec...

2.8 used lager transmission and diffs so yoiu might looking at not only the engine. (2.8 Pajero has body lifted in factory about 30mm to clear lager transmission.

May be chaper to get new track with 2.8TD? 93 or 94?
Or go for V8 like De-Ranged suggested.

My previous 93 has similar problem, this one had difficulty to put engage centre lock. After several use (even of lose gravel back load on slow speed) eventually cure the problem. Most Japanese import Pajero is not used in 4WD mode (back and forth) except few for winter ski fields.... (I guess). Ben

I haven't have experience with Gen I Diesel but generally it has more toque but less power.

Gen II 2.8 TDi is quite good for all purpose, but do not expect all those 4x4’s are faster on HW.

36" ! it's almost touching the wheel house! You need extra body lift. Having said that, I have seen a post on Pirate somewhere with a very cool custom 4-link setup in a Paj with big-ass rubber and the front wheel sitting on a 44-gallon drum so that just proves you can do something with them :) Steve...

I would check wrecker first to see what they have and its price. Then I would choose either reaper or swap with similar or slightly younger one. In 1995/6 (I can not remember which), they change the V6 configuration to SOHC 24V and had slightly increased power. But I THINK other part is same include...

You might need (or want) manual free wheel hub on front.

Once the center diff is locked (It will in low range), all those drave shaft and so on is connected.
I think it is alaways mobving but just not locked?

I'm not 100% sure about that.
Anyone?

It's most likely a sensour problem. Some individual car has this because of not often used or it have never been used in case if it comes from Japan recently. I think the hub lock is air operated if it is NH onwared whci has "super Select". I do not recomend engaging to low in tarmac, if the center ...

IMHO, Pajero is the best of both worlds. It is very good handling/comfort on the road and excellent at off-road as well. As you mentiones it's a Japanes import/ A 2.5 TDi is NH and 1991-1992. You may feel little bit luck of power for LWB 2.5. If you find 2.8, it will be much better. You really need test drive and check is it is smorky or not. Some guys check nuts holding the side step for rust, that you can easily rep...

Well, it's very thin tin plate but better than nothing to cover stering pars and so on.
I do not need to adjust ride hight for this, because it not heavy as I expected. So I take that as a positive side.

The beach situation, I would go for exhaust jack instead of artificial ground anchor. Or perhaps, you could use your spar tyre deep in the sand?
