Re: Project PAJ (Kermit)

I vote go back to fixed flanges. less abilty to get water in that way, I had genuine AISIN ones and until I went back to solid flanges was doing wheel bearings every WOF, haven't done one now for about 5 years. I do carry one hub with me incase I break a CV on the track and can swap it for the flang...

Re: The Gen 4 Paj

Hi, yes I do still have it. The spacer is to clear the front brakes. They are a bit noisier on the road compared to anything with a chassis, even an old second gen pajero is quieter but you do hear more engine noise in an older one. I wouldnt go as far as unplesant but its all tyre noise. What sort ...

Check the gen 3 MCC mounting points, pretty sure they use to tow points so you can no longer use them.

Next job is a new fuel tank, I have an old one and have have cut the top off it and will make a new base out of something heavie...

:D Is that why Ranger, Hilux and Triton were 3 of the top 5 sales lately? All diesel... if it wasn’t for soot particles Diesel is certainly the way to go, unfortunately they are sooty so get hamstrung with emissions gear. Economy and driveability is unbeatable! And your precious petrol already has t...

Glenthorne seem to be the main access. Fanghill is said to be a right old dump of a hut but some decent canpsites not far away.

Enjoy the south.

Re: surpintine

I mark where we turn going to these places and the closest one I have seems to be on the junction of deep creek road & Linnburn Runs Road. Yes that’s coming from the old Dunstan trail end or Pataeroa / Paerau end, the road from millers flat is the lake Onslow road that turns into deep creek road.

Re: surpintine

There is one deep swift crossing which I suspect will be impassable around lake Onslow before the Serpentine turnoff. I won’t say you won’t get through as you may well do but just a heads up.

See screenshot below.

Re: Serpentine

Its boggy in places, if you can't see the bottom of some of the waterholes perhaps best avoid them - they have decent ruts in the bottom. Id go through on my own cautiously but then again I know the track.

The Ultragauge has been brilliant, I find I use the Speedo on it more than the dials. If Your Jeep has an OBD2 plug then it'll work.

And yea, it was never going to remain standard!

Yes its a local track, and its Serpentine :) . There are 3 was to get to it, but the one from Millers Flat is a bit rougher, probably pay to take a 2nd vehicle.

Re: The Gen 4 Paj

The intercooler took a bit of a hit on one of the 1st outings and after a while it started to weep. it is located in a terrible place and is actually not overly effective when working hard or driving slow, could easily see air intake temperatures over 100 degrees AFTER the intercooler when towing up...

Re: Porsche Off -- A Cayenne Offroad Project

Those with late model pajeros with no chassis use the factory side step mounting spots for rock sliders and they seem strong enough as the frame structure is very solid at that point.

Re: Pajero 2007 3 door 3.0 litre petrol auto - timing belt

90000 is a major service with all the oils but I think $2100 is still a complete rip!! I’ll have a look in my service book today and see when the belt is recommended from factory.
