Flashing dash lamps is usually corroded terminals on the alternator two pin plug, pull it off and some dialectric grease in the slides - fixed. Or - if it persists pull alternator for overhaul

This is interesting because I got my pump and injectors done and it still smoked but put the catch can on and now its better. :D +1 mine was like $3200 or something new pump & injectors ouch & still at night sitting at a red light Im glad Im not sitting behing my fumey old million dollar 80...

Yup from memory on the Unimogs the bottom of the axle was about where the top of it would have been w/o portals so about a 4" drop With unimog axles the bottom of the diff head (factory shaved!) is in line with the centre of the wheel, so to get 12" of ground clearance you would only need...
