Re: prado/surf SAS 4" lift custom radius arms
80 series radius arms are almost identical shape to prado 1s but definitely a stronger unit. I have a photo somewhere showing the 2 overlaid. From memory the 80's r about 5-10mm longer with a slightly steeper?? caster angle if used on prado mounts.

Re: Kzj78 factory rear diff locker problems
I've had my magnets fall off before and also had the gears seize together with rust. Both very easy issues to fix, just take them apart, fix problem, relube and put it back together wih some new seals if needed.

Definitely sounds like a rip off mate. Should be able to pick one of them up for under $10k With that many kms and in reasonable nic. However they r hard to find with an elocker for the right price. But like mentioned above u could always get a cheap one with open diff and put and Arb in

Re: Prado 70 series E locker axles, Question
I did a whole rear end swap as I picked one up cheap so unbolted the radius arms and drive shaft and swapped in the whole diff. Over the years i have changed the axle sub assemblies (hub, axle, brake ect) between the locker one and open ones for different reasons. Never noticed any differences or ha...

Re: Prado 4 inch lift springs wanted, or part numbers.
Not yet, No one does an off the shelf 4 inch spring, well Cobra may but I am trying to not go through them. Waiting on a pair of 4 inch S/H rears to arrive so I can play with the front, may just use some spacers yet. Strange/annoying that its not a commonly produced after market part. I'd be intere...

Re: Prado 4 inch lift springs wanted, or part numbers.
Currently running 80 series fronts in the rear and 195Lb front springs, Nice and flexy but the rears especially are too soft. Front is bordering on too soft with the winch and barwork too, but not as bad as the rear. With all our camping gear they sag a good 50+mm and off road I get a decent amount...

Bit of a long shot but I thought I'd give it a go. Anyone out there got a tyre as per title they are willing to part with? Old pattern? Got a pretty major sidewall split and as they are old pattern I would need to replace 2 tyres if i can't find a second hand one. Prefer good condition. Here's hopin...

Looks like another prado ecu has given up. My truck wouldn't start this morning (it had been doing funny things for a while now). Turned over fine but just wouldnt fire. I had the same problem and came to the conclusion that the water sitting soaking on the rubber was not helpful (most likely made its way there during river crossings/bog holes as it was slimy dirty siht. Pulled it all apart, cleaned it, dried it and put it back together with some form of strong glue...
