Haha righto not from where I was watching. It's down to the tyres, wide tyres on a very light truck. The gearing is well matched too, most of the videos it's in second or third gear

4-5th July

Yeah I know it's a little late, but only just uploaded the video from Sundays efforts at Possum Palace

Also ripped the auto out of the truck as it was making some weird noises after the Easter winch comp.

Re: V6 Hilux Surf Project

Yeah I have been useless on this at the moment. Sort of lacking a shed at the moment while other projects are in the shed. So we are tacking onto the existing shed and extending it out 4.8 meters so the Hilux will have its own bay in a shed again which will be mint once that's finished. Also I have ...

Cheers. It's still along way off being finished yet. Although I should get around to doing an update on this page as I have done quite a lot more since the last post.

Hey mate sorry to bring up an old thread with a silly question but in regards to the commodore motor and box going in. Do these boxes have overdrive and did you just run it connected to the ecu as standard for its shifting or did it require some special wiring to shift correctly? Im going down the ...

Re: Winch Challenge Easter weekend 2015

Yeah very keen to have another crack at it. I agree with what new2zukes said, would make it easier for people traveling longer distances if we finished on Sunday. Leaves an extra day for clean up and would save having to take another day off work.

I use those exact same head sets as above and have been for the past 3 years and haven't had any problems with them. Great clear sound and they easily last a day of competing before needing to be charged again. Also easy as to set up. Just hold down the main button for around 7 seconds until they fl...

Yep diff number two  Good proof to show the strength in the Longfield axles and cv's  Didn't have time to set it up myself, a mate did it who would have set up hundreds of them as it's what he use to do for a living so the set up should have been fine. I have been busy sanding on the Hilux lately. Haven't made a lot of progress but its better than nothing. The Hilux will be put on hold soon, as the winch truck needs some attention before the next comp. I spent a good day or more degreasing, sanding and cleaning the underneath of the body to prep i...

Yeah I talked to the certifier about this awhile ago. He seamed to think that the ackerman angle should be ok, I guess time will tell. We did the exact same mods to the winch truck and the steering is fine at high speeds, have driven it on tar seal many times and it handles fine other than the 35&qu...
