Re: Rear winch on a disco?
There's room on a disco to fit a winch underneath on the passenger side parallel with the rear drive shaft. (with a bit of adjustment to the exhaust). Winch line then runs over drive shaft to other side and can then be routed down the chassis rail to front or rear. Body lift helps as there is then ...

Re: Rear winch on a disco?
We looked into the legalities of chopping out the rear crossmember to fit a winch on mine. Lance the cert guy says no problem at all, a decent winch plate put in it's place would more than compensate for the existing crossmember. Photo of some of the Turkish Land Rovers with Rear Winches. I have onl...

Tyre Guide http://www.landroversonly.com/forums/f42/basic-tire-information-6885/ Best thing you can put on is Extended Bump Stops, can save your tyres heaps once you go bigger tyres. I run a set of 32" and also 33" on other rims, both sets of rims are 7" and both run heavy duty tubes....

Matt if your going bigger than 33" then you will probably also need to change Diff Ratios. Ashcroft also have a ratio calculator on their website but I was looking at Ashcroft 4.12's for mine and all the gear from Ashcroft also (when finance allows for me). The Two Turkish TD5 Twins have the fo...

I have no need for a radar detector. For me to get a speeding ticket in my old girl I would need a big downhill, a tail wind and probably likes of Usain Bolt running along behind pushing.

I imported a lot of stuff from both Aussie and UK when i was setting up my Disco 3. Eventually NZ Customs made me get a client number which was a simple process of a web application and a couple of days later they gave me a client number. Tax always seemed to be higher than i calculated when i was t...

Also being Hawkes Bay it can be very dry. They had torrential rain just a week after the first trip I di...

I have seen my fair share of broken wire ropes doing damage. I used to operate a Slackline Dragline back in the late 60's early 1970's. It was in the Transport industry so also seeing chains and wire strops break when recovering Trucks and Bulk Fertilizer trucks I am fairly careful these days. Very ...

Mine came with an ARB bar about 5 years ago, I ditched it and put a custom bar on it. The ARB stuck out the front too much. Mine is 300TDi and had no major problems with it. It has been a good project starting out with OME 2" lift but that has now been ditched for Terrafirma and Extreme 4x4 stu...
