Re: G16a camshaft grind

x2 I'm on 30's and would also be nice to have some low down tourqe.

In saying that Suzukis are made to rev......., possibly it would not achieve much without supporting exhaust system and headers.

Re: Will these wheels/tyrs fit my Escudo!?

I run 30inch muds on 15x7 0 off set rim.

It's quite tight in there on the rear under articulation with some guard rub.

That's on a OME suspension lift kit.

Need to trim rear guards down a wee bit.

Remember all tyres are not equal and sizes will vary.

I would go with 29's to save hassle.

Re: Cooper AT/3 vs Cooper St "All Terrain" Tyres

Thank you. I have ended going with Pirelli Scorpion ATR's. This is due to the dealer having a set out back and brand new. Very hard to find much detail on them but they apparantly took out the AT test a few years back in Austrlia 4wd magazine. Not sure if that's much to go by though, but had some to...

Re: Cooper AT/3 vs Cooper St "All Terrain" Tyres

Thank you - that's good feedback.

I'm quite sure they still have a good sidewall on the AT3 and should handle Red Rocks or basic shiny trails with ease.

I really can't see them being tested too hard.

Cooper AT/3 vs Cooper St "All Terrain" Tyres

Hi all Looking for advice on the above mentioned tyres. They will be used for road driving such as family trips up North and down South along with the odd bit off roading around the likes of Red Rocks and general comuting around the neighborhood. I have another 4x4 which runs the STT tyres ie anythi...

Re: Newbie, looking to get first 4wd

1600cc Vitara/Escudo LWB or SWB? Will handle the coast with ease, go well on the sand as they are on the lighter side as far as 4x4's go and are relatively economic when comparing with other petrol engines, but will chew through a bit of fuel off road due to the lack of low end torque- need to keep ...

Re: Looking for 4WD advice

Nissan Safari could be had at upper end of your price range, but I note it's not in your list. They can tow all day and are reliable as they come besides rust. May not be the best thing to manouver around town but can mitigate with SWB Options. Turbo Diesel would be ideal! The k's you mentioned woul...

Re: Hi from Steve in Welly

Very cool.

I have seen a couple of the Mitsubishi Vans around the South Coast.

There is a particular white 4x4 one which is the older model around there at times.

It has a snorkel, muds and a roof carrier and lighting from memory. Looks awesome.

WTB 15x7 Black Steel Rims offset 0 for 1996 Vitara/Escudo

As above, I am after a set of 15x7 Black Steel Rims for my Escudo. The offset is zero and they are for a 30inch mud tyre. Appears to be only white sets left in NZ brand new when speaking with my garage who has 3 contacts. He mentioned there may be other sets but he has concerns over the quality of s...

Re: 96 Escudo 1600 - help and advice please

Thanks for your help re above. Update: Manual Hubs were stuffed, pulled apart and gave good clean. 4WD now works when you manually engage hubs. Next question. Is there a 4wd light on dash which should appear once manual hubs are on? At present there is no light. Did the Escudos come with manual hubs...

Re: 96 Escudo 1600 - help and advice please

Ok - further update. I have a feeling 4wd is not engaging. Purchase Suzuki off an older owner who had it for 10 years and only used 4wd once when someone got stuck in snow and he helped tow out It also has manual hubs on front wheels. So I tried locking the manual hubs put into 4L and was still able...

96 Escudo 1600 - help and advice please

Hi all Finally purchased a new truck. Suzuki Escudo 1600 16v LWB model I have a couple of questions. * When in 4wd no dash light comes on, is this normal and or how do I repair? * I am putting 30's on and a suspension lift. I have been quoted as follows. 30 x9.5 Federal Coragia Mud Tyres $239 each 1...

Re: +5.00%

Mate they don't give a rats about tyre size at testing stations as long as they aren't hanging out past the factory flares like a phat drift car Well - that's a relief to know. Am I right in my +5% calculation 31.80 sounds quite modest tyre size wise as it basically means you would have to run a 31...

+5.00%

Hi all, I see many members run 33 Mud Tyres on their Pajero. From reading on here it appears the factory size is around 29.6, so one you add +5% this equates to a maximum tyre size of around 31.80 before you require a cert? What tyres are people running and how are you passing WoF's and obtaining ap...

Hi there, I have been looking at these myself. You will find most people will suggest make sure you give it a good service first and ensure radiator is in good condition along with all rubber hoses are in good condition and not cracking. I would then like you said make sure you have the recovery hoo...

Right - thank you - appreciate your help. - The defender build is epic. Does anyone have a 4x4 van out of interest or have had one in the past.
