Re: lets see ya camping set ups

I love the camper tent setup. At first I thought I was clever enough to design a tent like these, but now that I've got one, there is so many things that they have put into the design that I would have never thought of, like the design of the windows. It handles wind no problem, but the Aussies don'...

Re: WTD -patrol centre console heater/blower

There's a plate on the side of the fan motor that says 12v. I just ran a couple of wires to a battery and it seems to go ok, but I'm not sure how fast it's supposed to blow.

Re: WTD -patrol centre console heater/blower

Just went and had a look at the heater unit, and [in typical Nissan fashion] it is 12v. If you want to give me a ring 03 2304143 and we can organise something so you can have a look at.

Looks like the same unit. 33" Adventuro Tyres for sale

I have 4 x 33/12.5x15 GT Adventuro muddies that I'm going to put on Trade Me shortly. They have a few bumps and bruises because they have been used for what they were made for, with 6-7 mm of tread left in the centre. Anybody interested in these before I put them on Trade Me? Open to realistic offer...

Re: Safari Vacuum Pump/Alternator options

Just had the same thing happen to mine. I picked up a new aftermarket alternator from an auto sparky for $425.00. I was pretty happy with that because the last alt I had rebuilt cost me about $700.00.

Away to do the final set up for the Waikawa/Curio Bay rally this arvo. Looks like it will probably be a little damp underfoot with the rain we've had this week! So should be a fun day tomorrow.

Re: Wiring up LED light bar

I've fitted a 30" light bar, it only draws about 2.5 amps @ 24v. Didn't worry about a relay, just a fused lead from the battery, through a switch and on to a waterproof plug that I've mounted on the inside of the B pillar. I made up a short lead that goes out the window and plugs into the light...

Re: Winch rope

I've got about 30m of 1/2" on mine and the drum is chocka. The last few mwtres of rope has a sleve over it, and it cathes on the cross bar at the back of the winch. I'd say you will have to cut some off that 40m, but a 10m extension isn't a bad thing to have rolled up in the back of the truck t...

The Land Rover Club are having a new members/practice day at the club grounds at Sandy Point tomorrow morning [18/5/13]. Call out and have a chat and a bit of a play. The grounds are on the Beach Road, just past the Cabbage Tree Restaurant, there will be a sign at the gate.

Re: Suzuki 4.62 Rear Diff

Hi Chris,
The Escudo I took it out of is a 3 link. Looking at the photos, the diff was up side down when I took them. I don't know what it came out of originally, it was in the truck when we bought it.

Suzuki 4.62 Rear Diff

Any of you Zookie guys out there have a use for a 4.62 rear diff head? It has come out of our Escudo. A previous owner must have fitted this, but didn't do anything about the 5.12 diff in the front, obviously didn't use 4WD! It is less than useful to me, but if somebody has a use for it, I've listed...

I've got instructions on a pdf, but it would take a cleverer bloke than me to upload it on here. If you want to pm me an email, I can send it to you that way.
I've just spliced some 1/2" rope and didn't need to use a fid, the rope opened up enough to feed it through without it.

Hi there from another of the Southlanders on here.
I'd also suggest getting hold of the Southland Land Rover Club, we do get around a bit into some interesting places. Don't worry about the 'Land Rover' bit, there is only a couple of Land Rovers in the club.
