td42 turbo coolant flow

hi all. i am plumbing in a td05 turbo to my td42 just wondering what the best way round to do it is. was going to take the lower fitting on the turbo to the block drain bolt at the left rear of the block and the higher fitting on the turbo to tee into a heater hose. is this the correct way round (do...

Re: long slow gq project

Stripped down to a bare block, found some big bits of metal in the sump now to track down where they have come from. One bit was cylinder twos piston skirt oil squirter. not sure what has caused that to break off. Let the investigation begin.

Re: long slow gq project

been chipping away at it, got the guards trimmed up, front guards (800x600).jpg guards.jpg did some testing before fitting the turbo and found it was way down on compression in one cylinder and the others were below min spec so decided i might as well give it a freshen up. also changing up the suspe...

Re: radius arm mods

that is interesting to know, just looking down this path myself now. planning to use drop boxes though so then you only need one arm on the passengers side. brings that cost down to around $800.
will look in to cert issues now though. cheers

Re: rubber suspension bushes

Yeah sorry. Dumb questions on my part. I should have re-read your first post. A MWB conversion is fairly drastic. People push the rear axle back 300 mm (ish) to make them climb better and be more stable at speed. I assumed you were doing something like this an hence were making new trailing arms. a...

Re: rubber suspension bushes

no just doing a 3" lift and want to extend the trailing arms and panhards to get the wheels back where they should be. not sure what is involved in a mwb conversion or the benefits to be honest

Re: long slow gq project

had a few spare mins today so managed to get a bit further with the exhaust manifold. owes me $130. still need to smooth out the welds around the inlet ports but came up quite nice. was going to get a bit more carried away with the collector but decided the gain wouldn't be enough to warrant it plus...
