Re: Best place to buy synthetic winch rope?
100m roll. I'm keen on 50m for winch plus extentions etc but could part with the other 50m... I don't really need 100m lol. I'd imagine it's as genuine as it gets if brought through Bridons.

Re: Best place to buy synthetic winch rope?
Yeah im keen to keep away from Chinese rope, im definitely aware that you get what you pay for lol Had a look at 4wdbits website, hes got non name brand 10mm UHMWPE rope, min breaking load 10000kg for $7.99p/m. Seems a good price - Chinese?. Makes me wonder if its got any if the special coatings for...

Best place to buy synthetic winch rope?
Any one know of any deals on synthetic winch rope atm? Will be going on a swb safari with pto winch (toyota winch). Will most likely pick up 50m and what doesn't fit on drum will serve as extensions.
Cheers.

Re: Silverstone Rim Choice
I've got mine on 15x8, -22 off set. I dont drop the pressures.... cos i haven't got my on board air sorted yet, so obviously no problems dropping beads here  On another note make sure the lower rear seat belt bolts are trimmed flush with the captive nut. Otherwise when the tyre tucks up it can ...

Re: Does 80series springs fit swb safari
Yes they fit. I had a set of standard height front springs from an 80 series up front in my swb GQ, i reckon they lifted the front around 70mm. They were fairly soft but i liked them.

Went for a spin up Mt Greenland, beautiful day for it. The track was in good condition, no wash outs or trees down etc. The mud hole half way up was straight forward with a couple of different lines driven - its been dry for a while here for a change, so made things easier. One of the hiluxs on 37s ...

Re: cockeye creek
Just so you know...IMO your more likely to want a snorkel and winch to do Liverpool Bills. Probably add 33's at a minimum to that list too, my safari was dragging diffs on Silverstone 35's
If your just starting out Cockeye might be a better choice

Re: cockeye creek
If I'm thinking of the same spot - it's a short climb out of the creek on true left (right side as ya look up stream) back onto the track - slip on your left as you exit creek? If it is, just stay in the creek another 25 meters or so, there's another exit on your right. Otherwise, dunno! Cockeye Cre...

Nice
Thanks for the feedback Mike, good to hear the set up performs well. I don't suppose your running it with a factory locker by chance? Some say it cant be set up, some say it can???
I scored a diff to pick the bits off just a matter of finding time to get it sorted.

Cheers,
Shaun

Re: converting swb safari rear side windows
I had mine replaced by the crowd off TM - I think they are called fast autoglass, there on Moorhouse Ave. Was around $450 for new glass, rubber seals , removal of old fecked sliders and fitment of new single piece glass. A fair price I reckon. The crowd in greymouth quoted $800

Re: SWB safari rear high pinion set ups?
Im hearing ya fellas, for sure pinion angles need to be matched. Im running +16mm lower rear arms already, uppers haven't been touched yet . And yip, cross gbox cross member could be spaced down a little more too. High pinion is another way of achieving the same end result of no drive line vibratio...

Have you used a angle guage to check if the rear readings are the same ?[/quote]
No, haven't measured up to see how far out they are but I do know the angles aren't the same and do need matching.

Eye balled the bearing caps on the drive shaft side, looks in line. So assumably its in phase. Will know fore sure when it comes out for replacement.

Re: SWB safari rear high pinion set ups?
Cheers, well explained - as above, off to check em :D now that you know what U/J phasing is the reason they need to be phased is the driveshaft doesn't rotate at a constant speed around a U/J it goes slow/fast as it climbs up and rotates around the other side of the U/J (unlike a CV joint that will ...

Re: SWB safari rear high pinion set ups?
Thanks for the clarification re: uj phase. I ordered shocks to suit my springs, no worries there, no confirmation needed  Better get under the truck for a geez Shocks usually have a serial number you could search to confirm which lift they are for. Some new springs have paper id tags until ...
