Re: 1994 Pathfinder Build

Have you checked the sizing for the turbo against the motor? Just going by visual sizing it looks rather large. Might struggle to spool it up?

Re: Making a built proof snorkel for Safari?

If it's turbo I'd go 3 1/2 in min pipe size. I've kept mine on the outside of guard and have made it so the exo will be able to run above and below it.

Tdo5. The small 16g wheel version works well with the standard pump. Set up at 15psi these make the td42 come alive.

Re: Safari PTO with extractors?

My old shorty had pacemaker extractors and just had to cut and extend the front shaft mount(bolted to engine mount). From memory it also straightened the shaft from the pto drive to the winch. No pics sorry
Not sure but shaunpaddy on here might still have the truck

How about the fact that the large sidewalls are flexing and there is nothing you can do about it without going back to smaller tyres?
What tyres are you running?

Re: long slow gq project

I just pulled the pin out. Did have to mod the actuator mounting but is pretty easy to do.
Unless you ve got the air box behind the left battery I really recommend cutting the bend off , makes things soooo much easier. And way less bends in the system

Re: long slow gq project

I found the bend on the compressor housing a real pia when it came to hooking up the intake from the air box. Ended up just cutting it off and welding a bit of Ali pipe on then ground the inside out to thin the pipe wall. then with a bit of heat and a big bar I rolled it to a bit of a bell mouth so ...

Re: Adding 2-stroke oil to diesel?

Was a while ago now but read an article about this. It was about when Mercedes did a drive through india(?) and they add two stroke to the diesel fuel as the quality wasn't that flash. Apparently it makes the fuel burn better(cleaner) and stops the dpfs from blocking up. The author of article had no...

Re: td05 wastegate springs

If you want to do it "properly" then just get whole new actuator. Can I ask what type of td05 your running? And boost levels you want? As the models running what's called a 'flat back' collar begin to ,not be very happy ,when running over 15psi all the time. I know the td05h from the v5(?)...

Re: AS-450 Winch fitting.

Whats it rated to? looks pretty small. 1500 kg. Considering the Hilus has a vin plate weight of like 900kg. It should be plenty for most things. Can assure you that your truck weighs way more than that. Then add the stuck factor and you'll find that winch is a bit light. But it will help. Just be p...

Re: new to 4x4 and looking for some tips

I run dobi springs in my lab safari. They 2in lift heavy duty ones and they work really well. Still flex well empty but truck still handles well when loaded up. I only paid $207 a pair through bnt and it only took an hour to put them in. And that's using a jack and axle stands. With a hoist it's way...

Having no cowling does make a big difference to the effectiveness of the fan
Had no cowling on mine and had same issues
Refitted cowling and only time it gets above half is when towing 3m3 of wood up a f#%ken big hill. And it's auto.

Defiantly the turbo going by that description.
I'd be getting it checked out quick smart. A new whistle sound can mean that the impeller has been knocked out of balance or the bearings are on their way out. Either way it'll need attention.

I run it in my safari.
Have been for awhile now and it def makes a difference in my truck. Quieter, smoother and just runs better.
Main reason I use it is to lube the pump.

with the setup you have at the moment it would really be looking for a tdo5 big 16g instead of a 18g. They are common enough second hand BUT make sure you put a rebuild kit in if you go down this path. After that if you want earlier boost/better power I would be looking at a better flowing manifolds...

Re: another overheating terrano

does the truck smoke much? High egts will make it heat up pretty quick.
Also check to make sure it actually has a thermostat in it because if it doesn't the water can travel too fast through the radiator and it wont cool down enough before it leaves the radiator
