sounds top end like a sticky lifter, my daewoo work vehicle had exactly the same noise, had to get the lifters replaced.

A good engine flush and a teflon based treatment may help (before replacing the lifters the service company put in an additive every 5000K to stop the noise)

Hi, Everyone has an opinion, but I have noticed on the yank sites such as pirate4x4 where they want good flex, but also good traction and still being able to drive on the open road - triangulated 4 link is the go. There are calculation programs that you can adjust every aspect of the 4 link geometry...

The fact that it goes away, only happens under light load sort of rules out most of the answers so far (ie mechanical/electrical faults) Only thoughts are that at 2K to 2K8 rpm, light load on the highway the engine computer will be running things fairly lean, easy for a misfire to take place esp if ...

Hi, 30 deg is alot, I am running standard lift (about 10 deg) and fit the 33's no problem at all.

If you want to run it a close to 30 deg, install a set of manual hubs so you limit the wear on the cv's to when you are off road, and not day to day driving

Older diesel engine - expect smoke :D Being a 93, keep an eye on the injector pump, play close attention if it seems to be "damp" The pump will start leaking at some stage, took me 15 bucks and 2 hours of my time to replace the two seals (diesel boy did a good write up somewhere on how to change them)

So the decision is, for the same amount of money....

Option A - Toyota SR5

Option B - Mitzy Trition, 2nd set of rims with extreme trekers, suspension lift, body lift, arb lockers, front and rear bars, winch, snorkel, certification and a recovery kit.

Hmm, hard decision :)

Toyota vs Mitzy. Opinions are like a#$eholes, we all have them. Most guys tend to sit in the toyota camp. Get on the net and do some research (its a big purchase decision), based on what is needed for offroad use (I assume thats what you want this for) Look for things as ramp over angles, aproach/de...

My tank is now 78 litres (down from 95) dont worry about it, good chance of cracking it if you try to get the dent out .

Twin batt with isolator, yep will work fine, I take it yours is a factory twin batt setup ?

Just put an isolator on the red cable to one of the batteries to disconnect.

lots, if you are using U-joints, one U joint will be at 0 degrees (pinion end)and one will be at whatever the angle between the tcase and pinion is. This will cause the U-Joint to try to accelerate and decelerate every revolution. :(
