Re: Some Hilux LN106 questions
The yank post, you are talking about, is a guy Jaffa on here. Don't know him, but he has done a nice build, and some real good tech. Haven't bothered to search post, but remember cause I was interested in this to, pretty sure that he said was impossible to deal with the Italians. Not sure if he is s...

Re: 80 Series landcruiser winch? whats good for it
Didn't think they were as expensive as that, not from force4 anyway. A low mount viper is around $5.5k, $8.5k will get a full race spec twin motor hornet, with bow2 motors :D Think phill is the only NZ agent? We have a lot of their product on the comp truck, and love the Red winch, but agree, it's a...

Re: Chch cert guy
The certifiers I would recommend talking to are: (a) Jon Palmer - Timaru Jon is good in the fact that he is a race car guy. He is quite practical and he comes up to Christchurch on a Thursday to inspect cars, so you can ring and book him for inspections. Phone: 027 4837529 (b) Another user friendly ...

Re: Manukau Winch Challenge 2015
If it's any use to anyone, my race trailer is going to Auckland via tokaroa, empty on Wednesday lunch time - short notice, and you need to get your truck back, but could transport a comp truck to Auckland, and probably find some where to store it, before competition. Re: Let's see your Winch Solenoid Mounting Location
When space is tight, try mounting all your big electrics on a sub member / removable panel. That way all the heavy cabling can stay connected and in place, while the mount is put back in to it's permanent position. Check this out to see what I mean. Most of the heavy wiring doesn't get touched, once...

Thanks for every body's suggestions. A Sunday road trip to Queestown return, has seen us collect an OK-ish gearbox (fingers crossed) that is going into Barney today / tomorrow. A few other tidy up bit's to do, and we are up and racing again.
See every one in Nelson.

sump in place2.JPG front tower brace engine.JPG Try a modified sump? drop in a lower pick up point and at the same time increase the overall width - this means extra oil in the system, plus when you are on a decent lean, the pick up is still in the oil. Then for added insurance, use an accusump. Be...

winch2.JPG Finally had a chance to look at the new winch going into the toy. Think this must be one of the first ones into New Zealand? Jono at JRC is the best fab guy I have delt with / seen by miles. PMC was his old business I think, be for he sold it and moved on. There is a fair waiting list, but if you want a wicked cage that doesn't look like a recycled farm gate, he is worth talking to. My challenge truck is there at moment. ...

We are hopefully putting a A350E auto transmission into the challenge truck. This gearbox is used in lexus 300GS in 98 and has appeared in a few other overseas models of different cars – Volvo and 4runners (2wd ones I think) supra, and fj cruisers 2007-2011)maybe these are 2wd overseas? reserve is $14k with all the good bits.
