Can anybody advise the current situation regarding 4wd access through Ngapotiki Station? Planning a trip down from Jafaland to SI in early March and am hoping to have a good look down the Wairarapa Coast. Any ideas appreciated.
Cheers Bill

Re: Mild Trail
Try Muriwai beach accessed via Wilsons Rd South Head. Pretty tame trail around lake through low bush, mostly sand base. Suggest you pick your day and go on to beach at low tide.

Rear Axle bearing removal
Hi guys, trying to help my Son fix a snapped rear axle on his 92 4x4 rodeo. Was a real mission but finally managed to find a replacement axle - but now am have trouble figuring out how to remove the old bearing from the replacement axle shaft. I assume once I have got the shaft out I will be able to...

Does anybody here have the good oil on The Orari Gorge? I'm wanting to know what the story is with access permissions and/or who I need to contact.

South Island Tag-Along Jan 12th to 26th 2016
If anybody is interested, we (a bunch of jafas) are planning a 15 day self-drive, pay your own way, south Island tag-along Safari in mid January. Departing Auckland on the 11th the trip starts in Blenheim on 12th of Jan 2016 and ends 15 days later in Kaikoura on the 26th. We will be heading off Sout...

knackered 1992 2.8 TD
I don't know much about Isuzus so I hoping somebody here can provide some advice. My Son has a 1992 2.8 turbo diesel that has been leaking oil badly from the back end. Its got a ton of aftermarket kit and is otherwise in pretty fair condition. The mechanics however say the engine is about to shet it...

Crossing upper Rangitata above Mesopotamia to erewhon?
Hi there guys. I'm planning a SI sojourn in Jan 2016. Anybody got the good oil on crossing the upper Rangitata from Mesopotamia to Erewhon Station? Thinking late Jan 2016. Is it doable, any recommendations? Or is it a bust. I know its one of the trickier rivers.
Cheers, Bill

Exactly. Go or don't but chill out you precious pup. Their loss if many can't make it. Just done Motu and I'm going glamping down the Hereworth. Would love to have done the Hunt too but such is life. Maybe Mata next year. If there can be an improvement on the Motu dinner stakes I'd be a happier glam...

You may look for us at the posh end of the camp ground. Team Landcruiser will be 'glamping' by night - and as usual no doubt attending to the recovery all Nissans and Rovers by day. Please ensure your passports and visas are up to date if you non-yota owners intend visiting the clever end of the cam...

Re: 60 Series Body on an 80 series chassis
If you have the time review this thread from start to finish. This famous build "Project X" has to be the ultimate build of a 60 body on an 80s frame. Absolutely no stone is left unturned, no detail missed and is a great pictorial. (if you're in a rush jump to page 6 to see where you need ...

Anybody know what series is this?
looks like half 60 and half 80. 1993 build so must be 80s and definately on an 80s frame but also has clear 62 series design cues up front. Whatever it is I like it. Shame its not a diesel. http://img03.carview.co.jp/trade/img00/car/363/6991/3636991_2.jpg http://img03.carview.co.jp/trade/img00/car/3...

Re: Eaton electronic lockers??
Very happy with genuine Eaton Harrop E-Lockers that I picked up in Aussie at Opposite Lock for my 200 series. Cost me ~ 3k aussie plus about 1.5k to install in Auckland. Silent runners, state of the art tech and obvious engineering pedigree. Strong lockers that bugger-all can go wrong with compared ...

Pouto/Ripiro Beach Run? Sunday 21st October
Anybody keen on a bit of a wander up the the Kauri Coast on Sunday 21st October? Tide is low (real low) at 8.30 am. I'm not very familiar with the area but understand that the idea is to go in at Pouto/North Head and work your way north up the beach. I'm very much a shiney but I hear there are plent...
