Re: Hilux surf (vzn130) proportioning valve question

Thanks tweake I didn't think of that. It was lifted before I bought it and I didn't notice that. Good spotting I'll have to check everything else too like front diff drop etc. Looks like all they had done was put springs in and wind the torsion bars so might have some work to do there!

Hilux surf (vzn130) proportioning valve question

Hey guys I was giving the underside a clean after a recent trip and noticed this: 20180919_110653.jpg Is the rod that goes to the proportioning valve supposed to be that bent? Or is that damaged. Looks like something has come up and hit it but I dont remember what it looked like before if anyone has...

Re: 3rd Gen Surf (KZN185) doing multiple front wheel bearings

I've seen some bearing brands that do a 12month/20,000km warrenty on ebay maybe give one of those a go? Then at least if the problem continues it's not costing you each time and if you're lucky you'll find a pair that last. Look for the German or USA made ones on Ebay just double check compatability.

Re: Certified Self Contained?

Yeah that's true, I might call them once I have the rooftop tent with the awning below it installed. That might be just enough to tick the box on the removable/portable toilet as I see on the motor home association website some people have gotten away with having it set up in a tent/awning. Also mor...

Re: Certified Self Contained?

Oh thanks wjw that's super helpful. yeah that toilet would be the tricky one. I think the usable inside rule would be a challenge in a surf. I was thinking could make the the grey water tank go under the truck where the spare wheel usually goes on the ln130 surfs. But finding space for the toilet wo...

Certified Self Contained?

I searched around for some chat about self contained trucks but couldn't find anything... I'm guessing its because no one wants to be 45° with a tank full of s**t in the back... but Its been a thought of mine for a while just to make parking up and sleeping a lot less of a hassle when closer to town...

Re: Speedo problem after installing amp (Prado 90)

Hey I used to have a really annoying bell in my surf that went off when ever I went over 105km, When I removed the bell I pulled the speedo cable out of the back of the dashboard just a tiny bit without knowing, it being loose done exactly what you described then eventually stopped all together from...

Surf manual conversion

Hey guys this is my thirsty 3L auto, It's doing something a bit odd it feels like the clutch doesn't fully dis-engage and makes my take off slow with lots of revs. And instead of trying to fix and auto I thought maybe just doing a manual conversion was a better idea. I was just wondering if there wa...
