Re: Where to go for parts

I get my Mitsi parts from USA on line, genuine parts delivered to door. Use BNT for plenty of stuff though, just get used to replacing parts more often :D How long's the turnaround on stuff ex USA? Is freight costly? Re your comments about BNT stuff, you reckon it's best to go genuine? Crash bandic...

Where to go for parts

Doing the cambelt and a few other things on my new (to me) L200. It's the first Mitsy I've owned so not sure the best place to go for parts. Obviously there's the likes of Appco, Partworld etc but wondered if there's a better option? Based in Palmy but happy to do mail order also.

Re: L200 service manual

Nah the manual I found (CD-ROM version) turned out to be for a 2007 version not the 1993 version it said it was, after a lot of dicking around getting it running

Might have to resort to ebay at this rate.

Thanks Crash bandicoot, it was called the Triton too, which I believe the new models are known as in NZ now as well as a heap of obscure names:

I think I might actually have found something, just downloading it.

L200 service manual

Just bought a 93 L200, 2.5L 4WD. Am having a hell of a job finding a service manual for it, even just recommended service intervals. So far have found a 4D56 service manual which is OK for the engine, and a PDF on the cooling system (it isn't getting hot so I was looking how to change the thermostat...

Thanks, both those products look like they will do the job. I had some spray on stuff from Supercheap which left a coating but it washed off, was rubbish. Good to have some recommendations. I find the best way to convert rust is with a grinder Yes obviously the bulk of it will be removed first. Want...

Thanks, I can't take credit for the barwork that was done before I bought the truck, for my first one I wanted something mostly setup already.

I have been generally happy with it though, just need to stop the rot

This is probably gonna be real easy and quiet boring to most of you, but I hope there will be guys like me too on here who have their first truck and enjoyed it for the first year or two and done the work on it, but now it's starting to show a few problems. Mainly cause I drive it on the beach - eve...

Re: Rust Remover - does it work?

Yeah it's a difficult one alright, I was thinking of using my paraffin gun to get stuff down there, maybe even spraying some old oil or something just to slow it down??? Have used fishoilene in the past that seems to hold off the salt for a while although you have to let it set before going on the b...

Don't have the huge experience of 4wding like many on this forum, but finally something I can answer (being a Metallurgical engineer by profession) There is only 1 way of ensuring you don't get rust reoccurring: clean to absolute bare metal, ensure the surface is completely free of any salt, oil, a...

Rust is getting at my truck a bit so I'm going to take the barwork and any obvious bits off and give it a paint.
