Re: Diesel 4wds that can't be "switched"
All of what you are looking at have the potential to be switched I'm afraid
Instead of worrying about switches see if the owners have proof of servicing and have looked after the vehicle
I'd be avoiding the 3.0 navaras the motors are grenades at the best of times

Re: Rock Sliders.... How to mount them?
Mine are bolted with sandwich plates either side of the chassis
The way I see it I'd rather the slider get damaged/ bent than potentially bending the chassis if I come down to hard on the sliders

Re: 5l turbo hilux
High steer kit and extended shackles are on there way
Drop crossmember is almost done
And bar is all bolted up
Might add a few gussets here and there to keep it nice and strong and then a clean up and lick of paint

if you already have the adjustable draglink and torque rod just redrill the perches on your housing (one side is already done from the factory) can move the diff about 25 or 30mm (cant remember exactly) then ya just need the DS spacer but rears up front and high steer will drastically improve the of...

The cheaper one is probably only 20mm nylon from the looks of it hence the cheaper price

Legally, It will require low volume certification. Mine was done at katikati engineering by the previous owner. They've done an excellent job of the deck. Apparently the do a lot for forrestry, so they'd be a start. Didn't deal so well with the gutters inside the roof and now have rust patches comi...

Having now used both nylon rope and snatch master straps and would go rope over a strap every time
Stretch a lot better and can be re spliced on the go if hey ever broke
Only downside to rope is the fact they take up so much more room

Td42 with only 130 thousand ks
Factory diff lock
Not that overly expensive when models with well over 250 thousand ks and no difflock are going for 20ish
