Re: Navara difflock
The odd d21 navara has rear diff lock. They use the larger h230 diff not the c200 that's common in navaras. Have a look-see underneath, you'll easily see the vacuum solenoid if it has it. Plus should be a switch on the dash too

May it be a td27 non turbo fan you need? I get the feeling td27 and td27t have a different size fan

Re: Air Conditioning Bearings - Terrano TD27T 1992
It can be done on the vehicle. Bearing is about $40 (nz). I made a simple puller, and put a thread the 3 holes in the clutch plate to m5 and use puller to pull those. If plate is on real tight then you may need to thread holes to m6. But if checkerheads right that the centres threaded to remove it'l...

probably td27eti from a r50. terrano and mistral turbos are different, even though they both use a variant of the td27eti

Looks just like a td27eti turbo. Qd32eti also has that type turbo, although could well be different spec

Re: WOF tire size woes...
By the sounds your truck is certified for 15x10 rims? and you have 16x8? Your wof man is correct in failing you as vehicle must match description of cert plate to comply. Circumference above OE in this instance is of no relevance. However if circumference between your 16's and the 15's it was certed...

Re: ZD30 - Name that tune!
That's a shit ton of blow-by!! Far more than what would be considered excessive, and much more than normal. I'm guessing its blown out tappet cover gasket at the back? The noise is hard to hear location from not being next to engine, but my bet is a damaged piston (and probably a scored up bore). Pr...

Thanks for your replies, Won't get a chance to try these things until the weekend but will post back with the results. I'm not sure I can put clear line on the output of the injector pump? However if its been sitting overnight, it doesn't run very nice at all after starting until it gets a bit of temp into it. It usuaully fires right up with in 2 secs of turning key, but then starts to missfire and blow white smoke and tries to die if I don't keep the revs up. Feels like it has an ai...

Bell housing pattern is different between petrol and diesel. Can be swapped, but its the front half of gearbox housing that needs doing.

Re: Terrano Clunking Noise, Help!
I would be very surprised if the transfer chain in a part time 4x4 had problems if not used lots offroad (or been left in 4x4 by mistake on road). Easy to check it out though, just drive in 4wd round in circles on hard but not real grippy ground (ie dirt/grass- not tarmac) and bind up the front/rear...

Vacuum sensor, fluid level sensor and handbrake switch all bring the same light on. Start with fluid level- it may have jammed while bleeding brakes.

The ONLY resource for wof regulations quite clearly spells it out. If it differs from these regulations it either gets changed to meet these regulations, or taken for certification (or an illegal wof) https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/vehicle-structure/struc...

Re: twin turboing a V6
Its simple enough to run one turbo either one side with pipe around from other side, or centrally with pipes from both manifolds. Good luck mixing a big and a small turbo as twins. Very hard to keep a smooth torque curve. (hint, search Subaru valley of death). Lag is almost non-existant nowadays. Bo...

Re: Towing & Auto Gearboxes
Hi, I thought the not towing in overdrive was more to do with some manuals as 5th is through a gear whereas 4th is straight through so can handle high sustained load. Very true. 4th (in five speeds, 6speeds can be different configurations) is straight through, no gears doing any work and very minim...

Re: Installed snorkel - NOISEY AS F*#K
What brand snorkel do you have? Any snorkel will make induction noise loud, but the safari snorkel that hugs the roof line (google image search will show what I mean) is louder than most (close to deafening at full noise with window open) . Maybe have a listen to some other vehicles with snorkels to...
