Re: !997 Prado 1KZ-TE Starting Issues

Thanks tallsam66, Out of interest how did you replace/repair yours once it was confirmed it was the spill control valve? I have heard that a new and even recon'd inejector pump is some serious $$$. Can you buy the spill control valve separately? I guess you still need to get a mechanic to pull the i...

!997 Prado 1KZ-TE Starting Issues

Hey Everyone, long time since I have been on here but hoping for some advice if possible. I have a 97 Prado with the intercooled 1KZ-TE engine. Once a few months back I went to start it and it fired and just stalled. Took another 1/2 dozen attempts and it started and ran fine for months thereafter. ...

Re: 1997 Prado TX Purchase

Cheers for the info guys. I had been cautiously thinking an engine flush may not be a good idea and oil changers may not be the best service - haven't responded to my request for quote to do it either.... Trying to get a price from a mechanic to do it and flush and replace coolant and thermostat etc...

Clutch Slave Cylinder - how to replace

Sorry - completely off topic in terms 4x4 vehicles but I think the slave cyclinder in my 1996 ford telstar has just shat itself i.e. the rubber boot is split and perished and fluid is leaking out of it. Managed to bleed it enough to get home today but i need to do 600kms + a week to get to work and ...

Re: 85 SJ413 - Engine Idle Problem

i was worried that someone might say that a new head may be the only option for it. Pretty much havent got the cash (and possibly the experience - not sure how hard it is to replace) to spend much on it which is one of the reasons I had it for sale. If worst comes to worst might have to flick it on ...
