Re: 80 series winch info

Don't get me wrong, having A winch, is better than having none.... but for the price you can pick up a brand new one these days, I have to agree with wjw - Its just not worth the risk. Maybe I just had a couple of dud's... but I can assure you, they weren't under huge loads... For a factory winch on...

Re: 80 series winch info

I've had 2 factory toyota winches in the past... and both have had the issue of locking up under load and wont reverse, its a real pain in the A***. Once to the point where I had to VERY carefully tap the pin out of the hook end, while the cable was under strain... NOT FUN, but was left with no othe...

Tracks near 42nd

Hi all, Me and a couple of buddies are heading down to the 42nd this weekend, with the intention of camping etc. From what I've heard, the track is fairly tame, and probably driveable in a couple of hours? Can anyone confirm this? If this is the case, does anyone know any decent tracks within an hou...

All sorted now.... just as a side note... If your in Auckland, PG Hydraulics in East Tamaki is the place to go for anything power steering related. Great bunch of helpful people and pretty decent price - only place ANYWHERE in NZ that I could find that had a rebuilt one on the shelf for exchange. Ch...

Gidday, Dirty Air flow sensor? Family member had a TD27-T in a 96 Terrano that suffered the same... was good on the flat, but as soon as it came anywhere near a slight incline it was a gutless as anything - some hills you could have your foot flat to the floor and it wouldn't get over 70 kms. I had one in my hilux (ute) for a while, and compared to a 350 chev I put in a swb GQ, it was amazing on petrol lol Being the Lexus is only a 4 litre though - there pretty good on fuel - like most, comes down to how you drive it, what you will be using it for etc....... Re: First ever build (maybe) Supra surf

Gidday, The supra 2jz into the surf used to be a very popular conversion around 10-15 years ago... There was quite a few of them floating around at the time, and still heaps of you-tube vid's out there of them. Most just go straight for the lexus v8 now.... probably cost you around the same and much...

Re: R50 Starting trouble

Hey Peter, I believe its located on the side of the transmission for an R50, where the linkage from the gear lever connects to the side of the box.... Easy enough to replace, and if you have a volt meter, easy enough to test resistance to see if this is what is causing the problem. Bit of a google s...
